Just went of the BCP and TTC. Typically how long before PG? Some have said that going off the pill encreases the chance of conception in the first month. Any input on this?

I think it really depends on your body and how quickly it recovers from the hormones, what your body was doing before you went on BCP. I think it also depends on how long you were on BCP.

I've been off since August and still not pg. I've heard the average for getting pg after BC is 6-12 mos. That seems to be what it is around here.

I went off the pill mid cycle the end of Sept and was pregnant within a month. My doctor said there is an increase in multiples right off the pill because your body goes in overdrive. Luckily for me just one little baby. BTW, I was on the pill for 18 months when this happened.

I see that you were only on the pill for 18 months. Have you heard of any results from someone who was on the pill for say six years. Because that's the amount of time that I've been on. Once I started counting I couldn't believe it had been that long. Good Grief!!

I got pg with ds (now 5 1/2) the month after stopping bcp. I had a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby so go for it! Good luck to you! Eileen

With my first son, I was on Ortho Novum for 8 years. I went off in October and was pregnant in January, and we weren't trying (were trying Natural Family Planning to not conceive after we got married). So figure it only took three months after 8 years for #1 and 1 month after 18months for #2.

I went off the pill 2/24, had my LMP on 2/27, ovulated and conceived between 3/11-3/13 and got a BFP on 3/24!! My ob said that it varies woman to woman, some women OVER ovulate (think twins...triplets...), some resume regular ovulation and some women do not ovulate at all. Good luck!!!
