I posted this question over on the TTC while losing weight board, but did not get any response. I have been thinking about joining Weight Watchers, but am unsure if it is ok while TTC. What do you think? Anyone currently on this program or had success with it in the past?

Thanks in Advance,

Megan

Hi Megan,

I think it is safe, I used to do WW and they have a special program for pregnant women, so I would be it is ok while TTC. I would talk to the WW leader and your doc. Good luck!

Hi Megan!

I'm a Lifetime WW member. There is a wonderful message board website that I can direct you to where they have a section specifically for women TTC (or pregnant already and following the program). It's www.dwlz.com. (it stands for Dottie's Weight Loss Zone) This is really a good site for anyone wanting to lose weight as they have tons of recipes and advice there.

Good Luck!

Hi Megan,

I was on weight watchers and lost 50 LBS!!! I have keep the weight off for 2 years until recently I have been trying to quit smoking and have gained 15 LBS back:(

I am following the program again and have started to exercise again. So hopefully I'll lose the weight soon.Weight Watchers is a great program. It's a great idea to lose some weight if your overweight while TTC but not to much. But eat healthy and eat healthy during pregnancy!!!!

Good Luck!!!

Hi Megan,

I had the same question, I did WW online and lost 42 lbs and have maintained that weight for about 5 months. But I now eat only 26 points a day (the equivalent of about 1300 calories), which even if I add the 300 calories you're supposed to eat extra when pg doesn't seem like that is enough.

Since I'm no longer an onlne member, I was planning on discussing specific calorie requirements with my OB when I get that BFP.

But WW is great!

GL to you,

Dana

Hi Megan,

Looks like you and I are in the same boat! Im also ttc#1 and am following the ww diet. I actually just begain (AGAIN) on Friday. Im hoping to be able to stick with it this time because my Doctor told me that my weight could have something to do with my infertility. This time I'm trying out the new "flex Point" plan and so far so good! I don't know if I've lost (I haven't weighed myself yet) but I have been able to stick with it thus far!

I think that the other ladies are right - there's nothing wrong with being on ww and ttc at the same time as long as you don't lose too much, take it slow, eat balanced and be sure to use your minimum points!

I would really love it if we could continue to talk and support each other since we seem to be on the exact same path! If this appeals to you, feel free to email me at cheri-v@rogers.com anytime...

Good luck!

Me too. Did WW on-line and highly recommend it. Joined to lose the last 10 lbs. after baby#2 and ended up losing 15. I love the program and its easy to customize to your tastes and lifestyle. Best wishes...
