Two days of + OPKs

Is this normal? Last cycle, my first trying OPKs, I got a + and then didn't test the following day. I didn't realize maybe I should. I then tested the next day, 2 days after the initial positive, and it was negative. This cycle, I got a + last night and tried it again just now. It's still positive! Is this normal? Should I just keep testing until it turns negative?

You can get 2-3 days of +OPK's it just tells you your about to ovulate, not that it's definitely happening, it gives you notice basically, a time frame of about 24-48hours, or it could be currently happening if you haven't tested the days leading up to the positive.

I agree with the PP, it can be normal to have several days of + OPK's before finally Oing. I usually had 2 days, but I've been known to have up to 4 days! I know you've been worried about whether or not you're Oing, but rest assured you are! Are you doing CD 21 bloodwork this cycle?

Hi Steph -

Haha...I know, I've been totally obsessed with whether or not I'm Oing. This "diagnosis" of PCOS threw me, I wasn't expecting it and I'm still trying to see how its affecting me, if at all.

I didn't do another OPK yet today, I'm waiting until this evening. I would normally have done the day 21 bw now but I'm on vacation. I was also wondering if vacation and being sick has interfered with O. I guess I have to wait and see. I'll do the blood work next cycle, along with the HSG, which I'm NOT looking forward to.

Thanks!

Being sick and on vacation can definitely interfere with O. A change in location or weather, plus the stress of it all, can wreak havoc on our bodies! It's also normal to have different O days from cycle to cycle, even without sickness or other factors.

Don't worry too much about the HCG. Really, it's not so bad. I won't lie, it hurts when they blow up the balloon inside your uterus (think labor contraction), but it's over quickly. Plus, I'm optimistic that your results will come back normal! And you'll see that BFP soon! :)

Oopsie, I just realized I made a typo. I put "HCG" when it should have been "HSG." Ah well. :)

I am feeling... well... I'll be honest, I am sick as a dog! I haven't been able to keep any food down in days. It's okay, though. It's really worth it. :) My first u/s is on Tuesday. FX for a heartbeat!!
