So, here I am on CD 15 after provera, hoping that O is near. I noticed some strange brownish CM yesterday, and I was hoping it was an indication that O was near, as my CP was higher and softer.

Well, today I had a gyno appt (yearly exam) and my doc told me that it looked like AF was coming, as she didn't see much CM. She said my cervix was high, but when i felt it this evening it seemed lower and firmer.

I've been spotting brown stuff all day, but nothing serious.

So, I'm at a loss. Do I need to start charting all over again? Can anyone just randomly spot without Oing or having AF?

I'm so frustrated. Thanks for any info/support you can offer.

Wow- well...hmmmm! It sure looks by your chart like you are ready to "o", but that comment from the Dr is confusing for sure. Yes you can spot with "o"- I'm thinking that may be it. I wish I could help more, but I think you're just going to have to wait it out and see what happens here.

GL to you!

Hi, I know this is frustrating, but after two rounds of Provera, here's my guess. I'm thinking that the bleeding that you are experiencing is still AF from Provera and that what you called CD1 originally might not have been it. This happened to me the first time I took Provera. About 4 days after the last pill, I started spotting/light flow and called it CD1. Two weeks later, I started AF again, heavier, and started a new chart. I just finished Provera again and, again, spotted for about 7 days, then had nothing for a week or so, and then AF again, stronger, for another 4-5 days. This time I was waiting for full flow for CD 1 and didn't get it until 18 days after the last Provera.

So, was your first AF what you would call a real AF, with full flow and red blood, or was it mostly spotting/light? If it was light, then my guess is that this upcoming AF will be your real CD1. Hope this helps! GL!

Some people spot midcycle around ovulation, so it isn't anything to worry about. It is possible you are just messed up because of the Provera, but I wouldn't start a new chart unless a real AF comes. I don't have my trusty copy of TCOYF with me, but it seems like the only time your cervix is high is before you O, not during AF. It amazes me how little GYNs seem to know about this kind of stuff. Most don't believe in charting (although the fertility docs will have you start right away), so I think they just look for major problems. Your chart looks like you are waiting to O, so I wish you luck.

Thanks a lot, ladies! You made me feel a bit better.

In reference to Brenna's question, I did definately have some heavier, red flow during my last charted AF. It was pretty much like my typical AFs, except the late AF spotting stuck around a bit later than usual.

I am still spotting today, but nothing serious that requires a pad or tampon. OPK today was neg. I'll have to wait and see!

Enough about me. I hope everyone else's cycles are less confusing than my own. LOL to all of you!
