Weightloss meds? successful Weight loss?

i have been ttc for 19 cycles now. So i don't want anyone to think i'm just going to poof get preggers one day cuz it doesn't seem to be happening!

my hubby and i both have about 100lbs to lose. We are both starting to get down & frustrated by the situation. He is researching surgery and that is not an option for me because of TTC. i am 33 so i'm not really thinking putting off TTC is a good idea. No doctor has said my weight has anything to do with my lack of TTC success, it's more of a personal thing.

When i met my DH was 180, but i carried it well. i was curvy & booby and i exercised, and i felt good. Now i am about 240, and i am sure missing the 180 days. i tried Weight Watchers but it just wasn't working for me. i was always hungry and the ponts never seemed like enough.

So i was considering Alli and i did a little research to see if you could take it while TTC. i guess i'll ask my RE about it. Has anyone had success with it? Has anyone had success with any other methods? I know the underlying driving force is ME but without a structured plan i am capable of sticking with, i just can't seem to get off the ground with any weight loss.

Alli is a drug almost identical to a prescription weightloss drug. I don't think any drug for weight loss is safe while TTC but if the weight needs to come off and you want to do it with a little help then it would be well worth the short TTC break. Now, about alli...it works IF you stick to it but be very cautious about using it because if you use it and eat ANY fat what-so-ever you will get a very (TMI) slimy mudslidish diarreah that will send you running to the bathroom. There are warnings in the drug information about this. It's actually recommended to carry extra dark colored pants with you just in case you have an accident while you are on alli. I have never used it but have spoken with lots of people who have and they all have had issues for the first few months with "accidents".

I used a prescription called Fastin/Phentermine in the past. It's an appetite suppressent. I loved it! Other than having a dry mouth (which only led to me drinking more water) I had no side effects. You do have to be monitored on this drug because it can cause your blood pressure to rise and is a stimulant so you want to make sure that you don't take it any later than 9 am to make sure that you can sleep at night.
