Hello Everyone. I am very upset today. I went

to a walk-in clinic this morning to have a

blood test done. Today is CD40. I thought I

was pregnant but the blood test was BFN. I quit

taking the pill in July, had AF 28 days later (August 10)

The doctor said that that this is probably normal, but I don't

understand why AF was on time last month. I am going to make

an appointment with my gyn, maybe he can tell me more. I know I

am not pregnant, but part of me thinks that until AF shows maybe

I still could be. Has any one had a neg. blood test and were pregnant??

I am also worried that if no AF that I will have to take medicine to

get her going. I would rather have her start on her own.

Thank you for reading, and the best of luck to everyone TTC!!

I'm sure this is not what you will want to hear, but coming of BCP, it can take you body 3-6 months to normalize. It took me 3 months and after 6 months my AF comes fairly regularly.

When i got off the pill last year i had 3 normal cycles, each being 28 days long, then when the forth cycle was due it didnt come, for 3 months i had no AF and all tests were negative, the week before Christmas af came.

My doctor described it as this, when your body gets off the pill the hormones are messed up, some women get off the pill and that same month their period doesnt come because their bodys trying to adapt.

In others, which was my case, it took longer, i had 3 periods but come to find out i wasnt ovulating, then after 3 period cycles with no ovulation my body tried to start ovulating again so my periods stopped.

In other words some women hope off the pill, ovulate and get pregnant right away, some women get off the pill, their cycle is loooong and their period is late because their body is trying to ovulate, and then in other women they just get off the pill, have avvovulatory cycles then when their body tries to ovulate their period is late and their cycle drags out as their body tries to ovulate and have a REAL period.

I hope this isnt your case but i hate to say that it sounds like it with a negative blood test, as long as AF doesnt show then dont give up hope. Think of it this way, if you were having annovulatory cycles and your period is late then that most likely means your bodys trying to ovulate but its dragging out your cycle, you could still catch that egg but with a long cycle you never know. Do you chart?

Thank you for your information.I really appreciated it!

I am still not going to give up till AF comes. How long

have you been trying? No I have not been charting, I don't really

know much about it.

Hello. Thought I would give some input here. Like the others said, all of this confusing mess is caused from getting off of bcp. The best way, and I can't stress it enough, is to chart your basal body temperature. This way, you KNOW if you're ovulating. Without charting, you have no clue. OPK's only detect your LH surge, which occurs before Oing. But in some cases, women have LH surges, but don't O. Monitoring CM is good, but not good enough.

Charting is very imtimidating when looking at charts. But it's actually pretty simple. www.fertilityfriend.com is an awesome site to use. The best way to learn is to jump right in doing it. I bought by thermometer, basal body one, at WalMart for like $6. The next day I started charting and have been doing it now for 3 months. Easy to learn.

If you start charting and realize you're not Oing, then talk to your doctor. This is the best advice I can give. Sorry to hear that you're not PG, but it will happen, sooner or later. Best of luck to you,

Well last year i got off the pill, like i said, 3 normal cycles then NOTHING, that stress scared me out of TTC so i waited till this year. This year in july i stopped taking my pill and have had one cycle since which JUST ended after 45 days. So its different this time then last time. This time when i got off the pills my body just dragged out my cycle and ovulated, the first time i got off the pill, i was annovulatory for 3 months then had a loooong cycle where my body started ovulating again. Id really reccomend Charting, It lets you know when youve ovulated and sometimes in cases like this if your temp stays pretty high, it could mean your pregnant, because they drop when AF comes. It took me a little awhile to understand but its really helpful.
