I know this is sort of a misplaced post, but you guys always have so much input, I wanted to post here...I hope no one minds :)

Anywho, my mom is struggling with what she wants her grandchildren to call her. What do/did you guys call your grandmother and grandfather?

My grandmother is Mamaw and my grandfather was Pop Pop :)

Cheers!

Grandmother was Mom Mom when I was little, now she's Granny.

Grandfather was Pop Pop when little, now it's Grandpop.

My MIL wants to be called BB. She feels she is too young to be called anything with Granny. She's only 52(had DH at 18). My mom is fine with Granny (She's 57).

I call my grandfather Papop and my grandmother Mashoes (it was SUPPOSED to be Mamiche, it's like a french version of Granny, but I couldn't say that when I was little, lol.) I think my mom wants to be called Mamiche, but we haven't talked about it extensively. (My husband and I haven't told anyone that we're TTC.)

I call my grandparents Nanny & Poppy. DS calls my parents Nana & Pops, DH's parents Gramma & Grampa. Great Grandparents go by GG (great gramma) and Pa-G (kinda sounds like pudgy when the kids say it! very cute!). So there is my string of names! Good luck in your search :)

I called my Dad's parents Granny & Papa. My Mom's were Grandpa and Grandma. Dh's parents will probably be called Grandma and Grandpa. My parents will probably be called Nana and Papa. (My mom watches my best friend's baby, and that's what she calls them.)

My DD calls my mom and step-dad Nana & Papa, my DH's parents Grandma and Grandpa, my dad and step-mom Grandpa & Buella (her shortened version of Abuella the spanish word for Grandmother...we are caucasian ,but this is what she wanted to be called so that is where that came from.) I called my grandma and Grandpa, Mema an Paw Paw, the other was Betty Grandma (her first name) an Betty Grandpa (poor grandpa). HTH

My nephews and niece call my mom...Mimi. Nothing to do with her name or anything, my oldest nephew just started calling her that when he was 2 and it stuck. We all call her that now! I've come across two other families that call the grandma..Mimi.

Good luck deciding!

Cool question! I call my GM "Granny" & my GP was "Paw-Paw". DH's GM is "Mimi". My niece & nephews call DH's mom "Gran", so I guess that's what my kids will call her as well. My mom & I have talked about this ALOT & she, too, feels she is too young to be called anything related to Granny. I thought my suggestion for my parents, Grammy (for my mom) & Oscar (for my dad...get it???), was pretty cute, but they didn't!! So, long story short, I have no clue what my kids will call my parents! Anyway, good luck to everyone!!

Grandma and Grandpa for my parents. Pretty simple and straightforward. Against my better judgment my DH's parents wanted to be called Granna and Paw Paw. No offense these are just not the kind of names I grew up hearing.
