I know this is sort of a misplaced post, but you guys always have so much input, I wanted to post here...I hope no one minds :)

Anywho, my mom is struggling with what she wants her grandchildren to call her. What do/did you guys call your grandmother and grandfather?

My grandmother is Mamaw and my grandfather was Pop Pop :)

Cheers!

My maternal grandparents were grandma and grandpa. My paternal grandmother ( my paternal grandfather died before i was born) was Noni.

My nephew calls my MIL Nana so I suppose that is what our kids will one day call her. He was able to say Nana over grandma and that's how that was decided. I haven't thought about what my parents will be called. I suppose the traditional grandma and grandpa.

Both my grandfathers died before I was born, so I call my mom's mom and step-dad Nana and Grandpa Carl, and my dad's mom Grandmaman. I grew up with one grandmother in the US and one in Canada, so Mom's mom opted for "Nana" to prevent confusion in little me. :)

I've talked with Mom about this only a little bit, since DF and I haven't told anyone we're ttcing, and she basically said there was plenty of time for her to decide and she didn't want to talk about it! Oh well!!

I usually lurk but thought I would just throw mine in:

My Moms parents: Ma-Maw and Pa-Paw;

My Dads parents: Grandmother & Grandaddy;

My Great Grandmother - Big Ma-Maw(she was not big at all!!)

DS has 3 sets of grandparents:

My parents: Nana(or Nan)and Poppa(Poppy, Pops)

Had to throw mine in as well.

We called my mom's mom and step-dad...Grandma and Grandpa Bill (he was the only grandpa we knew on that side)

And the one people sometimes cannot believe is that on my dad's side we his mom grandma and his dad Grandfather. My grandfather said when we were little that his grandchildren were smart enough to say grandfather and there would be no exception. It is all he answers to and recently his first great-grandchild called him on the phone and called him grandfather. He was on cloud nine!!! Everyone thinks grandfather is a stuffy name but he is a far from stuffy as you can get. Just convinced he could get us all to say it!

This is neat reading what everyone's responses have been!

On my Mom's side we call them Grandma and PapPap. One my Dad's side we call them Mamaw and Papaw.
