A typical chart is "biphasic" or, as that word implies, has two phases. There are two distinct temperature ranges on it - one set of "lows" pre-O, and one set of "highs" post-O.
A triphasic chart often occurs with pregnant women. A "triphasic" chart shows three phases. First, it shows the same set of pre-O lows. It also shows another set of post-O highs, from about 1-7DPO. And then, following implantation, it shows a new set of even higher highs.
