What is an evaporation line?

Hello Ladies,

Can anyone explain to me what an evaporation line is on a PG test?

I tested this am (3-5 days late) and I got a faint pink line (the control line is maroon) after 4min 30sec (on a 5 min test).

Could it be an evap line, or can I start the celebration?

Thanks!

Here's to hoping, Ro

Hi there!! I'd say you got your BFP!!!

As long as the line was there within the time frame and was actually pink, not greyish, than you should celebrate!! The evap lines usually show up a light greyish (sometimes a little pink) and AFTER the alloted time frame (I had several but after hours of taking the test) I noticed your 13dpo, it may be a little early to have the bright positive, I tested late with dd and got a faint positive 2 days after AF was due on cd 16.

If in doubt wait and test later or tomorrow am with fmu. If you test later today don't drink anything and try to hold it for a few hours.

Good luck and I hope it's really BFP++++++

Kate

PS) What test did you use?? Try an an early result test, maybe it will show brighter.

I have a limited selection, since I live overseas and I am not really sure where to buy tests. I used a test I bought from www.saveontests.com. The level it detects is 20 mlU/mL. I tested again this afternoon (I saved up for 8 hours) and it was a darker (light) pink line. So I do believe I got a BFP!!!! I am testing again on Wednesday with a Clear blue easy.

Thanks for your help!
