Hey all. I'm new to charting and have heard people talk about the implantation dip. What is it? How much of a dip is it? If we did conceive, when can I expect it?

Thanks,

Susan

There is some discrepancy as to the accuracy of implantation dips. Implantation typically occurs between 5-8 dpo. There is often an estrogen surge at about 5-6 dpo that causes temps to dip during regular cycles- nothing to do with implantation. There can be implantation dips- varying in size, but just because there is no dip doesn't mean you aren't pg. And vise versa just because you have what could be an implantation dip, it could just be the estrogen surge and you aren't really pg. In other words it's pretty unreliable. I'm not sure what causes a real implantation dip.
