What should I do?? Help!

I posted before about my ob-gyn scheduling my progesterone test for right after O. I looked up some info, and every single site I found stated that the progesterone test should be done 7dpo! So when the receptionist called about my cd3 blood test results (all normal, by the way), I double checked with her when I was supposed to get the progesterone test done. She called me back after talking to my doc, and said that I should go in on cd14. By that time, it was already cd18 - and it's a good thing I chart cuz if I didn't know much about my cycles I would've gone right in there and gotten an inaccurate result - and I hadn't o'd yet so I didn't go in. I specifically asked her about my short lp (8-10 days on average) at my appt, and I told her I want to know if it's caused by low progesterone. In fact, I specifically requested that test, but she said it's always done right around O. She didn't seem to understand what the heck I was talking about!
My question to you ladies is: should I go in as soon as I see that I've o'd (like she wants), or should I just wait till 7dpo? How much difference would there be in my levels? What would you do?
I feel like an idiot cuz she's the doctor and I want to trust her judgment, but this isn't the test I asked for!
Thank you in advance! :)

I'd guess, & that's all it is, that they want to get an idea of what your level is to start with & then maybe they'll tests again to see how much it changes? Good luck!

Jackie,

I'd seriously be looking for a new doctor that is more knowledgable.

sewin4baby: I thought the same thing, but she didn't say anything about it so I'm pretty sure that's not what she meant. Otherwise she would've given me 3 lab sheets instead of 2.

chele: I'm glad to hear from an "expert" that I'm not completely crazy! :) I know she's new to the office, and she's young enough to be fresh out of med school, but I agree that she should know the basics at least. I think I will wait, I was leaning that way anyway but I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong.

Thank you both! :)
