I just found out i have a large cyst on my ovary. i have an appt monday for an ultrasound. when i told the doctor that i have irregular cycles, she said that that is what made her think "cyst". I'm just curious if anyone knows why, scientifically, the cyst delays AF so much. I am like 45 days into my cycle, but i have been having the pain for two weeks, which means O had to have happened prior to the pain of the cyst (if i'm reading correctly, the cyst usually forms from the release of the egg). i know now that it couldnt be PCOS or Endo(i had the blood tests), so they have to be functional. so, what's the deal??? im confused. has anyone's doctor explained this to them?? or am i the only one who obsesses over the "why" about everything?????

From what I was told cysts like that can produce hormones such a progesterone which can delay af. I hope this gets resolved quickly for you.
