So, I've been hearing a lot of about you ladies taking your temps? Why is that? Does our temperature change when we ovulate and get pregnant?

I'm currently 14DPO and have tested negative to 3 HPT...I'm so anxious and nervous and i'm thinking my symptoms which aren't that many are mostly IPS.

Should I take my temp? Also, because I never kept track of AF I've had to rely on calendars I've found on the net to let me know when to expect my next AF and it's pretty close. The calendars say today Jan 8th, I should recieve my AF. Nov 7 08 was a previous one and Dec. 9th 08, was a previous one so does that all seem right to you all? The only time I kept track of AF was the first TTC which was back in Nov. 08. From Nov to Dec. it was 32 days....today is day 31!

I OV'd on Dec 25, 08...hoping to get my BFP very, very soon!!!

Should I be doing the temp thing too???

Also, I've been reading that breast tenderness or any thing to do with your temp is a HUGE sympthom. I have yet to have anyone of those...But question...How would it feel if I did??? I need specifics because I have absolutely no idea what to look for or if I do feel something am I feeling something or am I playing with my head to make myself feel something the IPS thing???

Yes, temperatures go from pre-O lower temperatures to post-O higher temperatures.

In addition to what PP said there are also other signs you can track like your CM and CP (Cervical Mucous and Cervical Position) Those also help indicate when O is near. If you would like more info on all of these there is a really great book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility

Your temps will rise after you ovulate, soo you can pinpoint ovulation. OPKs and even CM are just clues, only temps can confirm ovulation has occureed. Use all of these together and you will have the best sucess!

Some people find temping is too stressful or obsessive, i do not, i use them to prevent PG too. I like having all the info too.

taking your temps now wont helop much, you 'd need earlier temps to compare. and breast tenderness is different for each, i never have that!!
GL and baby dust! Try temping next cycle if you dont get your bfp!
