I'm going to say Oprah. I'm not a huge gaga freak over her or anything, but I feel she's a real inspiration. She has overcome extraordinary life circumstances and made a huge success of herself.

I like Catherine Zeta Jones- I just think she always looks great and she juggles her career with having a husband and kids and frequently being pregnant.

I'd say Jodie Foster. She supported her whole family through her career as a child and isn't totally screwed up like some adults who were child actors. She left a blossoming career to go to Yale and get her Bachelors degree. She has used her position in Hollywood to make the films she wants to make like the absolutely brilliant "Little Man Tate."

I've been watching her since I was a kid and I've always been impressed with her!

Plus she is raising two kids and keeping them out of the public eye. She's great!

I think being a female political person like the first ladies is pretty wondrous. I think Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton have been through alot. It must be tough to have your husband be the president. A political lifestyle must be very demanding. Being such a dramatic figure for the U.S. and always supporting the President, having to worry alot about image since it is so important to look absolutely perfect and having to be so careful about everything you say since it can come back and really harm the Presidents reputation and image. I also think it would be great to be in a position where you can do so much for people. As in charities and causes. They get to create their own and donate money and time. Much more so than being a movie star. I think Hollywood celebreties are a bit overpaid, too self-indulgant and I just can't relate to that type of person very much. I do like the older female leading ladies, like Goldie Hawn and Susan Suranden. They all have children and seem pretty down to earth and not too over-the-top about material things. Anyways, didn't mean to go on so much!Just my humble opinion!

I would have to say Reese Witherspoon. There is something about her that when I listen to her talk about her family I just say, "WOW". She is extremely famous these days and very much in the spotlight, but she is the kind of girl that likes to stay at home and be with her family. She's not the kind you see going out and partying at clubs and doing drugs and things like that. Her values very much resemble mine and when I listen to her in an interview or something I just think, "she sounds like she could be your best friend!". I just read her interview in the new Good Housekeeping magazine and was even more impressed. I am so happy for her and can't wait to hear more on her pregnancy.

Another female that I am inspired by is Emily Robison from the Dixie Chicks. She battled infertility due to endometriosis (sp?) and I was so thrilled when she finally got PG. Despite all the political controversy she seems very down to earth as well and anyone who has very strong family values is a winner in my book. I just love hearing more about her too. Those are the 2 people that inspire me even though there are many more that deserve recognition...

I'll second Laura Bush! I couldn't even imagine being in her position. She always appears so poised. Plus she is a big advocate for Literacy, which I think is so important. On a shallow note, she has a scottish terrier, Barney and I have one named Brittnie. In my eyes, anyone with a scottie has to have a good heart!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi guys! Jo here. I think Gloria Estefan is a wonder woman for a lot of reasons. Aside from her talent, she's managed to maintain a successful career and be a dedicated wife and mom. She overcame her serious, near paralyzing back injuries with amazing courage, strength and perseverance (not to mention she had six-pack abs like 3 months after having her baby.) And despite her fame and fortune, she remembers and honors her heritage as well as her community. (Remember the concert she organized after Hurricane Hugo hit Florida?) And most importantly, she seems like someone I could actually be friends with. :)

Hmmmm......I recently read an article on Rene Zellweger and her life seems so amazing- the ups and downs in her weight and how she did it for her movies Bridget Jones Diary...and just her overall struggles with finding love and trying to stay out of the limelight. She seemed like a very down-to-earth celebrity that just seems more like me...dealing with day to day issues and hating to be put on a pedestal.
