I have asked this before I think, so if some of you want to ignore me then that is fine. My dh and I are ttc#1, and we are just now getting serious about it. The prob is, we dont have insurance. Have any of you been throughthis, and if so, how did you do it without governnent assistance/ We know God will help us and not give us anything more than we can handle, but it is still nice to have a plan. Does anyone have any advice/
Thanks, Oli
Thanks, Oli

Not sure this helps.. but I know in the state of Maryland they offer "free" medical for all children under 18 and for all pregnant woman to make sure they are taken care of the entire pregnacy for the sake of the unborn child.
What I would do is call your local department of social services and see what is available to you in your area. Be sure to "fib" a bit to get some information. They typically won't share to "non" pregnant women becuase for obvious reasons they don't want women running around getting PG just to get their help or becuase they can get their help. Or you could say "I'm calling for a friend who is recently PG but has no medical insurance what can I do to help her"....
GOOD LUCK..

I am a SAHM and DH is self employed, and we don't have insurance either. In Texas, we can get private insurance which we have, but they do not cover maternity-it sucks LOL. So we are cash paying. I see a midwife, and we have already talked about this, they will do a payment plan. MOst OB's or midwives will if you let them know you are uninsured, and often they will charge you about 40% less also. My next birth would be $4000 and I prayed to God, and no joke we got $4000 back on our taxes this year. The Lord always provides, just have faith!

Depending on your income, your baby will be eligible for CHIPS (children's health insurance porgram). it's a federally funded program that is implemented by the States.
I'm not sure what is available to cover your hospital expenses for delivery, but the CHIP program is great option for when the baby is born. Best of Luck!
