Yeast infection?

I discovered today that I have a yeast infection, probably got it from the water in the swimming pool, according to my DR.

I had those things 3 times in my life, but this one is a little bit different. It appeared all of a sudden with strong itches (sorry if TMI). The ones I had before took a longer time to develop.

Anyway, I am 5DPO and I have a question:

Does this thing have any impact on my chances to conceive this month? I would welcome any input because I'm a bit scared of what can happen. I was so happy the last couple of days, because FF gave me a coverline (it was my first month charting) and I think we Bd'd at right times, so my hopes were pretty high...

Thank you girls.

Don't worry this won't effect your ability to conceive at all.

As far as treatments go, there is no evidence that the cream treatments are harmful to the embryo at this point. There are two main drugs-- one is in monostat and they did not specifically test it to see if there is possible harm to developing embryo, and the other drug I can't remember, but there were some tests to prove it was not harmful. If you are very concerned, you should call your dr-- they have pharmecutical books they can check in to put yout mind at ease.

BTW, I'm sorry you got a YI! They suck-- I was getting one almost every month for a while. Found out it was stress related! I make sure to get enough sleep now and I haven't had a problem since. I found that Monostat's 7 day cream was by far the most effective treatment.

HTH.

It may impact, it may not....hard to say. A yeast infection can change the ph levels to be inhospitable to sperm- also the thick cm makes it difficult to swim. It may have come later though and had no effect- keeoing my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks a lot, both of you!

I'm a bit revealed to read this. I think that the infection started yesterday, so hopefully it didn't have any impact during O.

We just have to wait and see.

My DR prescribed some cream, but the name probably wouldn't be of much help because I live in Germany :))) It was very helpfull last time I had YI.

Now I can sleep a bit better, thank you girls again.
