Zoloft and TTC?'s

I went to a new Dr. today because I have been having really bad emotional PMS since I got off of BCP and also to talk to her about how I was diagnosed with LPD with my second child- hoping she would just give me some clomid which worked last time I was TTC. Instead she says she wants to try and get my emotional stuff figured out first and wrote me a prescription for zoloft, and wants to wait another cycle before starting clomid.

Is anybody else TTC while on Zoloft or know what the risks could be to a baby being on it?

Also I had a big temp dip today 6dpo, Implantation dip maybe? I guess I will have to wait to see what my chart looks like tomorrow.

Hi!
I am on a drug called Citalopram for anxiety and depression. Certain medicines are in a class which are considered safe and not a problem while TTC and pregnancy. I'm sure there are other opinions but if your doctor put you on this medicine knowing you will be trying for a baby then I would consider Zoloft safe for you. The doctor may just be worrying if you weren't on anything and dealing with things that the infertility drugs could make you feel worse. When you go back and talk too your doctor I would ask but trust that they are licensed and know what they are talking about. Being a mentally healthy woman can only be healthier for your soon too be bundle:) GL I hope you get your BfP!

*hugs*

Most antidepressants are considered to be of minimal to no risk during TTC and pregnancy. Your doctor may advise you to wean once pregnancy is confirmed, or she may advise you to take it throughout pregnancy, depending on how you are feeling (sometimes it is more harmful for the woman to be off the medication than on it during pregnancy).

I just looked up Pamelor, and I see it is Nortriptylene, which is what I am taking also for pain management. My doctor told me that it is safe to take while TTC (in fact I wouldn't be able to get pregnant without it), but to wean myself when I get pregnant. Hopefully I won't need it once I get pregnant as my pain is specifically related to sex. I don't know if you will still need it for fibromyalgia during pregnancy. That is something you can ask your doctor. It is safe to take for now.
