They call me the Cervix Goddess, I'm here at your service! :P

So here's the deal on the infamous Cervix! She's a little ball of fun....literally, she feels like a ball. When you insert your middle finger, start searching for the ball like object. It can be kind of tricky so don't give up, but when you find it, you'll find it every time! During your non-fertile window, she will feel hard like the tip of your nose and low...not hard to find. As you start to hit your fertile window, you'll feel her start to soften up. Soft like your lips on the outside but still hard as you press into her. She'll start to rise. At ovulation, she'll be completely soft like your lips and as high as she's going to get. Some women "loose" their cervix during this point, meaning, they can't reach it, where others will know it's higher but can still get to it. "SHOW" is what you're looking for...SOFT HIGH OPEN WET. As ovulation passes, you'll feel her start to harden again and lower down. The best thing to do with charting your cervix is to check it at the same time every day and do it from the day after AF to sometime after ovulation. You'll start to learn what your body does every month. As far as the opening goes, it's like a kiss on the side of the ball. If you've had children before, it'll feel like a slit. If you haven't had children, it'll be perfectly round. Deciding on whether your cervix is open or closed is actually really tricky. Most women find it gross to stick their finger inside their cervix. I, personally, don't like doing it because I know my cervix well enough to know that when it's soft, it's open, and hard means closed but that's how you know. The most important part is never to check it before or after sex and never use it as a tool for early pregnancy. It will not be reliable for any of those things. Let me know if you have any more questions! :D

GOOD LUCK!

Thank you!! :) We started trying Dec. 09 but had to put it on hold in Feb when he deployed...picked it right back up August 2010 and just found out we were pregnant a couple of days ago just in time for him to deploy next month so this was so awesome to get it in during our last cycle together!! :D we like to think it was part of our plan now! ;) He should be home a week and half before the birth! :O

Good Luck Melissa! Let me know if you have any questions, I LOVE talking cervix!! ;)
