So I got a call back from this idiot in the Midwife's office with my beta results.

15dpo -229

She then tells me that my midwife wants me to come back tomorrow to repeat because that is too low. Now, I can understand her saying the midwife wants a repeat to make sure the number is doubling, but that number is well within the range for the first date of my next period. I told her my period was due yesterday, and she says, "oh, then the number is ok".

How do they let these people make calls. I am telling them, I don't want her calling me with results anymore.

Ok, I am done with my vent. I will get my second beta tomorrow and have the results Friday morning.

Ugh! That is a great number... I agree with "outlawing" her from calling you!

I had the exact opposite happen, and was way upset for the same reason, and also said I didn't want her calling me anymore. It was when I had my miscarriage -- I had already started bleeding, and went in for betas, and my number came back as 88 -- way too late for 5 weeks, according to O date. I had heavy clotty bleeding and was 99.9% sure it was over, but the nurse called and said in this chipper voice, "Congratulations! You're pregnant!". I said, "I know that, but I need the number, because I'm pretty sure I'm miscarrying." She told me 88, and I dissolved into tears. Then my call-waiting beeped in, with my hubby's boss telling us that they were expecting (neither here nor there, but it feels good to get the whole story out.... LOL) Anyway, I guess it just never occurred to her to check my chart and see what was going on before delivering her "good news", just like it probably didn't occur to your caller to check and see your history with multiple m/c, before saying, "too low".

Good luck -- I'm very optimistic for you -- lots of prayers to follow up that great starting number. KUP on the second betas!

Awesome number Sherilyn!

Don't worry about the idiot at the midwive's office. Just make sure they understand you don't want her to make your call again, and why. I'm just glad you're smarter than
