And so the spotting begins

I am having dark brown almost black spotting and cramps to go with it. I know brown is old blood, but I have never had a large amount of dark brown spotting that hasn't been followed by red and the sensation of my baby ripping away from my uterus. I am still at the brown spot stage, but I am losing faith quickly. I have a call into the RE even though I was just there yesterday, I am just wondering if the Crinone could be causing the spotting. It seems so cruel to finally get pregnant if it is only going to end again.

Thanks for all of the good thoughts and prayers. I was able to talk with a nurse and she assures me that the spotting is from the Crinone gel (the progesterone).

I just had to post as soon as I saw this! PLEASE have faith in what the nurse says. I was also on Crinone (I am 23weeks 4days now) for the first 3mos. and I had THE EXACT SAME old blood/coffee ground discharge and LOTS of it. I too, was convinced that I was losing the baby. I had cramps and everything! The cervix is just very sensitive the the Crinone. Please don't give up hope yet :)

Oh Barb...I hope that this isn't the beginning of the end for you...I truly hope not. If it's brown though, it may not necessarily mean anything. And cramps this early is normal too...everything stretching, ya know?

I will keep you in my prayers....{{{HUGS}}}

Barb, I have taken Crinone before but never while I was pg but based on what Julie and your nurse said, it sounds totally normal! FX!

Your nurse sounds pretty sure, so I'd try to hold to that. That darned PAL brain has got to be going a million miles a minute, I hope you can busy yourself until Tuesday. FX for you!

Barb,
I really hope it was the Crinone. Try to focus on those beautiful numbers you got. I hope Tuesday comes quickly for you!
