I'm sorry you're going through this. Honestly, I'm not sure how you would even get a positive test if it was only 5 either. However, the fact that the numbers went up is a great sign. Sorry I can't offer much for advice, sending lots of sticky baby and hcg rising vibes! I hope your numbers on Friday are nice and high!
Hi there... most doctors will consider anything above 20 or 25 a positive for pregnancy. There is a possibility of having SOME hcg in your system, but really, anything above 5 would be considered abnormal with the exception of being pregnant. I have NEVER heard of a doctor's office not considering someone pregnant unless their betas are in the 100's. I would call them back and ask to speak to a different nurse, midwife or doctor to get some clarification and IF they give you the same info, well, if it were me I would find another doctor's office.
That said, if you had a 5, then a 20 two days later that is more than doubling, so keep an eye on it. If you have any more hpt's I would keep using them to see if your line gets any darker.
I hope this is a sticky bfp for you chica. Please keep us posted.
Unfortunately I started bleeding this morning. Heavier than a normal period for me, with lots of back pain. So I called my midwife's office and they said I was probably losing the pregnancy. They said to still get my blood drawn on Friday and keep my appointment, they'll just change what kind of appointment it is.
I'm just dumbfounded. This was my third pregnancy and my second miscarriage. After the first miscarriage they did a lot of blood work and said that it all came back normal, so I have no idea why I'm losing my babies. Does anyone know where they go from here? What should I expect at my appointment? Other than check for clotting disorders what do they do?
I am so sorry you are losing another pregnancy. (((HUGS)))
With my last one they did testing for thyroid, lupus anit-coag, ureaplasma/mycoplasma, STD's, etc... I would have them do a panel. Mine came back positive for ureaplasma/mycoplasma, which is an asymptomatic infection that normal antibiotics don't work on, it needs to be specifically tested for. They had also determined that my progesterone was low, so have them test your progesterone as well. There are also conditions that include the inability to properly metabolize folic acid, so you can have that checked as well.
I hope that your doctor's office listens to you and helps to figure out what's going on. (((HUGS))) chica.

My dr. won't do betas until I am actually a few days late with AF.
AF was a no show on

Although your numbers aren't particularly high, your doubling time is awesome. Your levels have got to start somewhere right?

POAS this morning and it was negative. So this pregnancy is definetly over. Is this what I've heard refered to as a chemical pregnancy?
Thanks for your support ladies.
