Dr has never checked Progesterone?

Hi ladies! Quick question, I notice that a lot of you have your progesterone level checked but my doctor has never mentioned it? I had my HCG checked and it doubled really nicely but should I have my prog checked too? I've only had one m/c and it was a chemical pg, do you think that is why?

Thanks!

That's not totally uncommon. Neither one of my RE's check Progesterone after a BFP unless you pull out all the stops and beg. Their logic is that m/c causes low Progesterone not vice versa. So if you're Progesterone is low you are already on your way to m/c and it would be too late for supplementation. You would just be avoiding the inevitable.

Now now ladies, I know a lot of you don't agree and for the record, I don't either. I know a lot of women who have had pg's saved by Progesterone but for some reason that seems to be the general consensus right now over here in the ATL. I do know a lot of dr's put women with history of m/c on Progesterone right after O but they say after a BFP is too late to start and do any good.

That may be the line of thinking your dr is on. BUT it's your body and they work for YOU (despite how we're treated a lot of the time) and if you want them to test it, MAKE them test it!
