good sack, nothing in it, no fetal poll no yolk sac, nothing. I have to go back in 7 days and do it again. I am not feeling hopeful. Dr is not counting me out but he would have liked to have seen something.

Oh no! I'm so freaking sorry. Please tell us that your DH or someone else went with you for that u/s. I don't know much of anything about u/s's like that where nothing is seen at first as far as prognosis, but I hope that your doctor is right and that you're not out.

I don't know what else to say, except that I hope you're doing okay right now. But how could you be? I don't know what to say. I wish I could give you a big hug right now.

Oh no, I'm so sorry that you're going through this. :( How far along are you? Is there a chance that you o'd later than you thought? ((Hugs)) I hope you get some answers soon - you're in my thoughts.

Please, please, try to take a deep breath and relax. I just hunted down your bfp post, and all the posts you've made pertaining to it, in an effort to figure out how far along you should be at this point. My best guess is that you didn't chart, so you don't know exactly when you O'd (based on a post saying that you were currently at CD 40 (on Aug. 12) and have before had a cycle that went 44 days. And you didn't say how many dpo you were when you tested, but it was a faint bfp at Aug. 3rd. Going off of that, I'm guessing you were around 10 dpo when you tested (Yes, total guess, and obviously bound to be off by a couple of days either direction.....)

However, that means that right now, you are only in your 6th week (as in 5 weeks, some-odd days), and that means it is VERY early to see anything on an u/s. Further, if I'm calculating right, based on your CD, your LMP was July 3rd. If that's what your doctor was going off of, he'd think you're a whole week ahead of where you actually probably are based on ovulation. And if that's the case, that's why he was concerned at not seeing more.

I know you haven't felt hopeful all along, and I can't speak to how much of that might be accurate intuition, versus just good ole' PAL brain, but I think that you are still fine -- if you were really only 5w1d, like I was for my u/s when I didn't get to see anything but a sac.... well, trust me, you're TOTALLY not out!

Hugs -- I hope that something in this jumble helped! But try to keep your hopes up -- I've seen a lot of empty sacs in early pg, on various ECs and with friends, that are now happy healthy children, driving their mothers crazy in a completely different way. Keep your chin up, sweetie!

I agree with Kelly---if you are onlyl at 5 1/2 weeks, then a perfectly formed sac is all they would see----even a day or two makes a huge difference in the 6th week. I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks 5 days and they saw sac + yolk sac, but no heartbeat and they said that was perfectly normal for 5.5 weeks. So, if you are even under that, then the yolk sac wouldn't be there yet either. I think you will know so much more in a week when you go back in. Not, of course, that I wouldn't be freaking out in your shoes, but I don't think that the ultrasound alone is

I had no idea that there's a chance you're not even 6 weeks into your pregnancy. (Been flakey lately about remembering when everyone first got their BFPs.) Whenever I see "first u/s" mentioned, I always assume that it's a 8/9 week ultrasound appointment. If that's the case, yeah, you're definitely still in. Hang in there, and we'll all look forward to hearing how the repeat u/s goes!

With my cycle as long as it is I dont know what the dates are... My LMP was july 4th, I got an OPK on july 23rd. My cycle is between 36-38 days long. U/S was showing 5w1d , Dr said he liked to see at least a fetal pole or yolk sac
