Dustie, I really can't speak to the MTHFR as I don't know anything about it, but I think it's great that you're going in to talk to your RE.

Oh, honey :( I know you're scared...we all know how that feels.

As far as making an appt with the RE about your MTHFR mutation that is kinda two fold for me.

I think you should always push for more answers if you feel unsettled - like you don't have all the information.

But, from my own experience I can say that whenever I have made an appt like that, I never leave feeling any better. I always leave as confused or more confused than I was when I got there.

At the end of the day it is what it is. You can't change it. All you can do

Hi Dustie,

I'm so sorry you're feeling so worried. You are definitely not alone in your fears. I worry too about getting a BFP, but try not to read about other things that could go wrong, cause you'll just drive yourself nuts and it's just not healthy. I'm sure your RE will do everything possible to ensure a healthy, safe pg for you. Take it one step at a time, hun.....one step at a time.

Oh I am so sorry you seem to be having a rough day. As for being scared, I am scared 24/7. Scared of getting a + OPK, then scared that we wont Bd enough, or we do too much, and then scared at the fact that when pg, i have a good chance of loosing it again :(

I can't advise you about the specific condition you have or the medicines you have to take. But I can completely relate to the abject terror of IF and TTC. You have my virtual hugs and support.

Having a single variant does in fact make you heterozygous not homozygous.

When were you diagnosed with MTHFR? DId you know you had it before your children?

You do have 2 children, so I wouldnt stress that much.

I have Factor V Leiden, another clotting disorder. I also only have a single mutation so its not as severe as if I had 2. In fact my RE and a Maternal Fetal Med. Dr both told me not to do anything for it. I asked if I could take baby aspirin & the MFM Dr said it wouldnt hurt. Im not sure I believe them that it was not the cause for my losses, but I also have a 1 healthy child and had no problems conceiving or during pregnancy.

In general Im more freaked about not having another miscarriage for any reason. I dont really want to take blood thinners & my Drs agreed I shouldnt. I do know other women with Factor V, single mutation who did, and also have more children.

*mindy*
