When we voted this past spring the poll workers congratulated us on the pg. FIL was apparently eager to share the good news when he voted earlier in the day.

oh Lydia, that definitely sucks.

Kelly, mom to 4 year old Lexi, wife to Rob TTC Number 2 since April 2010, with a loss in June 2010 at 4.5 weeks, and a loss in April 2011 at 8 weeks (possibly ectopic). Saw the RE in May 2011, we were moving forward with testing and an IUI when we

"you would think if everyone knew your business when you got PG, the rumor mill would also have filled them in on your loss too!"

I know, guess not.

Ugh ...that really sucks. I'm in a small town too and run into this all the time, with the "once every year" acquaintances. You gotta love the small town gossip mill!

That is awful because it brings your loss back to the forefront. I'm sure they felt awful but that doesn't make it hurt any less. Hugs...

Oh no!!! Im so sorry that everyone at the polls asked about the baby :( That's just awful. What a terrible day to have your period, too! Im so sorry. At least DH was with you and could come up with some kind of response.... I probably wouldnt have known how to respond nicely or politely, or without sobbing.

(((HUGS))) to you!

Thanks ladies. That was not a fun day. I don't think I've ever voted so fast before! Yeah, but don't ask me for whom I voted...can't remember. At first we were really confused. We thought for a brief moment they were asking about a nephew or neice but realized that didn't make sense the way the questions were asked. I'm really glad DH answered.

Here's hoping that the next voting DH & I do is for pink or blue!

Lydia,

That is just an awful thing to have to go through. And while on your AF no less. I really wish I never told anybody I think it would have been easier that way. Less people to remind me of what happened. I wanted to give you a big (((((hug))))). People don't realize just how sensitive a subject this can be-I know I didn't until I went through it myself-and it can be so painful to have people asking you these questions.

Karen,

Thanks for the hug. I really don't think it is possible for people to realize how painful it is unless they experience it themselves. Sure, they might have a good idea but they can't completely understand. I'm so glad this board is here. I'm a bit more sensitive everyday as my EDD (12/7) approaches. Just when I thought I was doing ok, the EDD creeps up on me. We received an invitation to one of our friends child's 1 year birthday party on 12/4. I have to work that day, but DH said he didn't want me going anyway since it was too close to the EDD and worried that it would be too emotional for me. Yeah, our kids would have been 1 year apart. Sigh. It's tough but I'm just going to keep on keeping on, KWIM? Even if it's not where I want to be, it is where I'm supposed to be so I'll take it one day at a time. The bright light at the end of the tunnel is still there, it's just in hiding I guess.
