Am I ever going to be able to tell AF is AF?

So, yes, I had surgery yesterday and I know to expect bleeding after surgery. The RE said to take my last active BCP (yippee!) the day before surgery. I did indeed have bleeding after the surgery. I took my first estrogen pill this morning. It seems that the bleeding is tapering down. This surgery wasn't as extensive as the last one. Would you count yesterday as CD1? Or would you expect a *true* AF later? I think last time I bled for about a week after surgery and was also on estrogen right after. For now I'm counting it as CD1. TIA.

Wish I could help you Lydia, but I have no clue.

Wow, Lydia! You've stumped me! That's a great question that I cannot even begin to answer. Call your doc and let me know what they see. I am super curious! My guess is they tell you to call this CD 1 for now and take a "wait and see approach" if you get full flow 2 weeks from now you could probably assume THAT is the beginning of a new cycle. So they will probably tell you to consider this CD 1 until you have evidence that points to the contrary.

Sorry Lydia, I'm not sure either. I would imagine since you just took your last active BCP, that it means it is AF. I hope so! Good luck!

Basically the nurse said not to worry about it; it's normal to bleed after surgery. I guess it doesn't matter since we still have to wait to TTC and nothing (as far as I know) is timed with my cycle right now. I am still curious so I will ask the RE on Tuesday at my follow-up.
