Is there anything that you have received as a gift or purchased for yourself that you have gotten really excited about, but yet it was a rather mundane thing?

You are not a dork. And if you are, I am as well. Last fall I bought myself a new pot & pan set. I love it!! I was so excited to get it and DH was at first slightly amused at my excitement. Then I told him to think of all the yummy things I could make him, LOL, and he was right there with me oohhing and awwwing at the pans!

Oh, good. I'm glad I'm not alone. LOL! I got excited about some pans that I received a couple/few years ago as well. I love cooking, though, so they get used VERY often! I would LOVE to get some cast-iron cookware, but I know that it's super duper expensive, so I'm not sure I'll get much of anything (and those tiny little skillets that are slightly cheaper are worthless to me because you can't cook much in them). LOL! Maybe at some point in my life I'll get some good cast-iron things. :)

When I bought my Dyson vacuum cleaner, I vacuumed twice a day every day because I was so excited to have it! LOL

LOL! Michelle, I have a Dyson and I have never used it that often. LOL! But, the day that we got it, we vacuumed EVERYTHING. Anything that could possibly be touched by a vacuum was touched by it. My DH even vacuumed the ceilings. :)

Then I'm a dork also! I got the cutest, white ceremic olive oil dispenser at a kitchen store. It's so silly but it makes me smile whenever I use it, I just feel very chef-like :)

LOL... I freaked out when I found an honest-to-goodness ceramic butter dish that matched my dishes. My sister was like, "dude... you're too loud!" when I found it in the store...

Ooh, that's on my wishlist and I would be excited too.

I get that way about buying books. DH and I are readers and we order regularly off of Amazon, eBay, and stop at bookstores a lot. I have one shelf full of books I haven't read yet and I call it "my summer project". But I'm rediculously delighted every time I look at that shelf, even more when I find a new book. Each one is a delicious opportunity to get engrossed in awesome!

Ha ha ha!!! I get loud like that, too, sometimes. And it's ALWAYS over something that others look at me like, "that girl has lost her mind to be excited over THAT!" LOL!

That's awesome that you found a matching item!

I wish I had a bigger shelf for all my books. I have some on a shelf by my bed, but the rest are shoved under my bed because I have too many. :) I'm a huge reader, too. Most of those books on the shelf and under my bed have been read, though. Maybe it's time to sort through them? I hate getting rid of books though...sometimes I re-read.
