Eyes!

Do you wear glasses? Lenses? Have perfect vision?
Did you get RK or Lasik? Would you?

I used to wear glasses. From the age of 10 until 2004 when I got Lasik. I financed and I think paid $25 a month.

Since the Lasik, I have had 20/20 vision.

I go back and forth between my glasses and contacts. Lately, it's been more glasses than anything (pesky allergy season). I have astigmitism (sp) in one of my eyes so I can't have Lasik. There's another vision correction surgery I can have though. I forget what it's called. I'm seriously considering it but my eyes haven't changed in about 10 years (when I first started wearing glasses).

I started wearing glasses when I was 12. When I was 15-16 (11th grade), I switched to contacts. I still have glasses (they are REALLY old, though - probably should invest in a new pair), but I hardly ever wear them. My prescription hasn't changed much since I got contacts. I wear them most of the day, but when I do take them out, I just go without any correction.

I have heard some great things about Lasik, but I also am hesitant. A good friend of mind had it done and LOVED it, but now several years later, she's noticing that her vision is getting worse again. Plus, I really fear things being done to my eyes. My sister is blind (not because of Lasik, but because of an auto-immune disease that attacked her eye), and I really don't want to do anything that would affect my vision and render me blind as well. I just don't know how many Lasik procedures are done that end up with more damage than repair, and knowing my luck, I would end up being a Lasik failure. LOL!

Luckily I have pretty much perfect vision. DH on the other hand is pretty much blind. He was borm with a degenerative eye disease. They expected him to go blind as a child so its pretty much a miracle he can still see. Those beautiful blue eyes don't do much besides look pretty! He is having cataract surgery monday so i'm praying that will help!
