Are you happy with your hair?

For the most part, I like my hair. I like it's color. I could stand to have it a little shorter, but my problem is that I HATE when my hair is too short and can't be brushed behind my shoulders - it ends up in my face if it's too short and pinning it back is ok, but I tend to get headaches when I pull it back.

That being said, I really, really wish I could get someone to replicate the perm I got right before I got married. It was the best perm ever - gave me great cork-screw curls (but not too kinky curly). I prefer my hair with the curl in it. Right now, it's just just a VERY slight wave to it, but it's mostly straight and I just don't like it. But, I've dealt with it for years like this now. I just can't seem to find anyone around here who knows how to do that kind of perm wrap again. *sigh*

I've begged my stylists for a perm since I was 20-something. My hair is so straight they refuse, saying it won't take and would only damage it and end up looking bad. I envy people w/ waves and curls. I say go for it. Find pictures online of the type of curls you want, go to a higher-end salon and ask for it.

No. I've been coloring my hair since I was in 7th grade. I always hated my dishwater color. I too have done every color under the sun INCLUDING highlights in blue, purple, and pink.

It's currently a dark brown with blonde highlights. (The same brown in my profile pic, but instead of the pink and blue, the highlights are blonde)

It's a bit longer than shoulder length - not much, but I had super long hair for years and I'm missing it. My old favorite hairstyle was, I put it in a ponytail, wrapped a "bun" around 4 or 5 times, then pinned it just above the "bun" and let the rest hang down covering the bun. I used to be a restaurant manager, so it had to be up all the time. I remember dh saying once, when I wasn't working and still had it up, "I love your hair, but do you have to wear it up even when you're not working" lol

I actually like my hair quite a bit most of the time. It's Almost jet black so dying it is difficult but I have reallllllly light skin so I occasionally go a few shades lighter to a kind of chestnut brown color. I'll let it grow and then cut it really short and alway end up hating it so I'm trying to keep it long. right now it's about half way down my back. The only thing I hate is that it's super thing which can get annoying but as long as I let it dry without the blow drier it's a little wavy so you can't tell!

I'm just so worried that with all the hormonal changes I've had over the years (miscarriages, a term-pregnancy, and just the normal hormonal changes you go through as the years go on), that I'll never get that type of perm again. I paid $100 for a perm that they said they could replicate what I had before, but they didn't do the same type of wrap and it turned out decent for the first couple weeks (but never looked the same as when I had that one awesome perm) and then it just flattened out again. I'm so worried that I'll spend a ton of money on a perm that a hairstylist is going to claim will work great and then it ends up really crappy and I've got a crappy hairstyle and I'm out a ton of money. KWIM? I've been really gun-shy on that whole thing lately. I've kind of "settled" for my natural hair, but I really do hate it. I want my poofy, fluffy hair again. LOL!

I used to have this awesome almost white blonde hair....and then it decided to turn dirty blonde and i hate it. I have very thin hair which kind of sucks but I do love how soft it is. I've been growing it out from a short angled cut I got last year. Its now to the point where I'm happy with the length again...
