Conceiving after Miscarriage D&C

Hi Mookie! Everyone's bodies work differently after miscarriage and D&C. I had a natural miscarriage about 10+ years ago and my cycles went back to "normal" right away. My body didn't miss a beat. Then, my miscarriage a year ago, I had a D&C and bled for 3 weeks or so and then didn't get my period until about 5-6 weeks post-D&C. Everyone is different, but it does take time for your body to heal up. Take it easy. If you are feeling ready and you are done bleeding, then you can certainly try again, but the general thought is to wait until you get your first AF after your miscarriage. It's partly for dating purposes, but also partly so that your lining can build back up again. I guess I would err on the side of caution, so that if you did get pregnant again, and then had another loss right away, you wouldn't be questioning whether you should have waited another month. I would talk things over with your doctor and if you were going to start fertility treatments, I bet they would still want to help you out with starting those up and to do that, you would have to wait for your first AF post-m/c.
