Hello everyone....this is my first post here but I am really hoping for some guidance. I'm feeling incredibly furstrated and overwhelmed and just plain helpless.
A little background on me....I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2004 but was able to conceive my first daughter naturally in 2005. After six years of "not trying" but "not preventing" I got a surprise BFP in November 2012 only to lose the baby on Christmas Day. The ordeal has been heartbreaking and the absolute hardest thing I have ever been through.
My OB advised that an "established pregnancy" tends to put the PCOS in check for the several months following a miscarriage and that, if we decided to conceive again, our best bet was to try in the next 2-6 months. Given that advice, I decided to start charting this cycle (I had my first AF after my D&E and started charting that day).
Here's my low down:
- I've been temping - though I don't think it's reliable because since the miscarriage I haven't slept for more than 3 hours at a time.
- I've been monitoring CM and yesterday and today have had the EWCM.
- Yesterday I had some bad lower back pain, seems to feel better this morning. I've also had some very mild cramps and my boobs have been/are tender.for the last 2 days.
Now for the one check that has me feel like this is all for naught... I've been taking OPKs since CD6. All were negative until CD22. Today is CD25 and I am still getting blazing positives (4 days later!). I know that women with PCOS can sometimes always get positive due to increased levels of LH throughout their cycle but mine were all negative until a few days ago.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal? I'm so frustrated and annoyed...I really thought for the first time ever my body was actually going to work like it should. Now I kind of just want to crawl into a hole and cry.
Thanks in advance for the help.... I really appreciate it.
