Hello all

I had a missed miscarriage between 8-9 weeks and two weeks after that I had a D&C.

It depends on how high they were to begin with. Can you call your doctor and ask one of the nurses to tell you what your highest level was and the date of that? If you had the D&C on April 1, you could be down to 0 by now, but again, it will depend on how high it was when the missed m/c occurred.

You probably won't get AF for 3-6 or even 8 weeks after the D&C. I had a natural m/c last summer and didn't get AF for 5 weeks.
Kelly, mom to 4 year old Lexi, wife to Rob TTC Number 2 since April 2010, with a loss in June 2010 at 4.5 weeks, and a loss in April 2011 at 8 weeks (possibly ectopic). Saw the RE in May 2011, we were moving forward with testing and an IUI when we

It's different for different women, and it depends on the length of your pregnancy. I can't remember how long it took for my numbers to go down, but you could always get some cheapie hpt's and test it out. If you choose to do this, you will need to use the exact same kind of test until it goes negative that way when it goes positive again, you can know for sure that it is a new pregnancy.

Hopefully some of the other women will be able to help with the length it took theirs to go down.

Hi Karla,

I think return of AF after miscarriage can vary quite significantly from woman to woman. But I know from personal experience that it helps to hear what others went through. For me, HCG levels went down quite slowly. I had a miscarriage at about

I was luckly to get the D&C two weeks after they told me that I lost my baby. They had to make the appointment with the OR and they said that they only do it on Friday's and they can fit me in in two weeks... I couldn't believe it.. I had the option to take med's to start things rolling but I live out of the city and I had a fear that I would start the heavy bleeding at work or on my way home from work.

The wait for the D&C was horrible. The hospital called me and said to be in the OR waiting room for noon. It wan't until 9:30pm that they actually took me into the OR for the D&C. I waited in a waiting room BY MYSELF.. while my husband waited in the "general" waiting room for me to be in recovery.

Not only was it hard enough going though the miscarriage and having the D&C.. I actually had people congratulating me when getting follow up blood work .. and they work at the hospital... :(

I just am praying every night that AF comes soon.. I just want to get my period over with so we can try again.

I would call and see what your numbers were at your last appt and what they were at their highest just to see if that eases your mind at all.. After my d&c, it took exactly 5 weeks to get AF, but like someone mentioned, it could take up to 3 months.. Hopefully yours comes sooner rather than later :-)
