Hello to the board. I posted under questions, but so far no feedback. My question is: Can you get a negative blood test and later get a positive one? I am on day 36 of my cycle. I took two home tests and had blood work done on Wednesday all with negative results. I never go more than 30 days. My doctor recommended testing again on Monday if my cycle has started. I am so on edge. Any thoughts?

I have been trying to get pregnant for a year now. I am as low as a person can get. I lost my first baby one year ago.

I don't have any answers for you ... but I wanted you to know that I read your post and question and that I am praying hard for you. There must still be a chance if your Dr wants to test again on Monday. Oh, I hope so much that you are pregnant. ((HUGS))

ITA! I don't have much answers except that after a m/c your cycle does strange things....I keep hoping mine gets back to normal! No such luck yet.

I've heard that blood test is similiar to hpt, so test again on Monday, and see what happens then.

Sorry, not much help!

I appreciate the good thoughts from everyone. My DH is a good man, but he isn't good about listening to me talk about this. I am glad to find some support.

Susan, I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. My DH wasn't terribly eager to talk about our loss either. But he is a good man, also, so I let him slide. I don't know how to answer your question, other than to ask your doctor what this could mean. GLTY! Jacqui

Hi, Susan,

Welcome to the board. My husband sounds somewhat like yours. He is very eager to get pg again, but he thinks I am obsessive about it. He sees no point in charting and all that. We have 2 daughters that we got pg with right away and we weren't even trying on the last pg (which we ended up losing). Therefore, he thinks if we just give it a good shot and bd fairly regularly (regardless of where I am in my cycle) we will get pg soon! Well, I have been trying since Sept. and I am still here, so appearantly his plan is flawed!!! LOL! But I can't tell him that, because of course he is right! He is wonderful though and I am very lucky!

I am sorry I don't have any advice either! I do agree with what someone said in an earlier post though, that there must still be some hope if your dr. wants you to test again Mon! Good luck! Hope you get a BFP!!!

Heather

PS Are you a teacher, too?

I can't tell you how great it is to have a voice again. Thanks for all the replys and sharing. It truly helps.

AF came to visit today. I guess the answer is that a negative is a negative. So, here we go again. Month 13 and counting. Maybe this time.....

PS: I am a teacher--high school...the kids are restless and senoritis is kicking in! The end must be near.
