Jennifer again I am so sorry for your loss. But I'm glad you came over here to TTCAM. I don't know a better bunch of ladies anywhere. I'm sorry I don't have any experience with D&C myself, but I'm sure there are girls here who can give you some more answers. Sending you strength and peace, and tons of babydust when you guys feel ready to ttc again.((hugs))

Hello Jennifer. Welcome. I'm sad that you had to join us, but this is a great place to get answers and support. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy in November and I bled for about 2 weeks following the D&C. I then got my period 5 1/2 weeks after the D&C.

Hi Jennifer, I'm sorry for your loss. I had a d&c with my first loss but it was a long time ago - I'm sorry I don't remember how long I bled. It's pretty normal to bleed from a couple days to several weeks. I do know that I bled much shorter a time with the d&c than without for my miscarriages.

If you change your mind about wanting to start ttc earlier, don't ever think that you're trying to replace your loss, we all know that is not the case. My last loss was a late pregnancy loss, during the 35th week, and we started trying the following month. My doc recommended a year, but I talked him down to 6 months, then I talked him down to 3 months, then I talked him into a prescription for clomid at my 6 week checkup.

Good luck to you whenever you decide to start trying again. I hope you will get the support you are looking for here - this is a great group of women.

(((HUGS))) I'm so sorry for your loss. I also had a late 1st trimester loss. I can't answer for you about the D&C bleeding. I had irregular bleeding after my D&C. Went back after a few weeks of bleeding and found that there were "clots" in my uterus and it hadn't shrunk at all. We think the doctor botched the D&C, but that doctor has botched a bunch of things, so we've changed doctors. I would say that if the spotting doesn't stop after another week or if it gets heavier, you need to go back into the doctor. Otherwise, if it's just a light spotting, it might just be normal and your body is just healing. With my natural m/c almost 10 years ago, I spotted for about 10 days after I passed everything. I was told by a nurse at my new doctor's office that a D&C is supposed to clean you completely out and that if you have anything, it should be very light spotting as your uterus heals from the D&C.

I'm sorry you had to join us here. (((HUGS))) Definitely take your time to grieve and heal and start TTC once you and your DH feel up to it.
