I am so sorry for your loss but I am glad you have found this board. They are a wonderful group of women. My last lost was June 2nd and like you I had lots of off and on bleeding, some brown, some bright red, some pink, ect for about 9 weeks. I didnt actually get my real AF until 10 weeks later. Some women it takes 2-4 weeks and some longer. I would definately call your doctor though and see. Another (hopefully not!) situation could be that the tissue they thought they saw never did pass and you could be getting an infection. But also, it could be you are pregnant again but if you are, you would want to get to the doctor so they can make sure everything is okay :)

Keep us posted on what happens and feel free to vent, complain, and cry here. :)

Hi Issy,

I'm so glad you found this board. I am so sorry you had to go through such a horrific loss. I had a D&C in May at 10-11 weeks. I never spot mid-cycle but did a few weeks after the D&C. I took birth control pills for the first 4 weeks following following the D&C, had a light perior, and then had spotting on and off for a couple weeks mid-cycle. I think that the miscarriages wreak havoc on our natural cycles and it takes several cycles to get back to normal.

I'm so sorry for your loss but am so glad you found this board, the ladies here are awesome! I can't tell you much more than the previous posts. With one of my M/C's I had something very similar to what you're describing last for a few days and then AF showed up a few days later. I would definitely call your doctor and just explain what's going on, just to be on the safe side. Cycles after M/C's are almost always really odd though!

Oh Issy, first of all, I am so so sorry for your recent pregnancy loss. That sounds like a truly horrific experience. I've never had a loss that happened past 8 weeks, so I cannot imagine having to go through the entire labor experience like that, only to have it end in a miscarriage. (While you're out of town, no less!) How awful. I am truly sorry you had to go through that. I hope that you and your DH have found some good, healthy ways to deal with all the grief and emotions that go along with a miscarriage.

And YES, the spotting could be implantation or ovulation bleeding.... or it could be an irregular period. Many women have different-than-normal cycles for 1-3 months following a pregnancy loss. There could be more or less bleeding, more cramping, heavier discharge, longer or shorter cycle. However, what you described does not sound like nearly enough bleeding to add up to AF.

My advice: I would take a pregnancy test within the next few days, and call your dr if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi Issy. I'm so sorry for your loss. That sounds really traumatic. I don't have an answer to your question, except that I know I had late ovulation after my m/c and had ovulation spotting for the first time in my life as well. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry we have to welcome you to the board. I hope you get a sticky bean soon.
