Introduce yourself, tell us your story

I think that lately, we've had some people move over to PAL and some new members find us, and I feel like we have some lurkers out there too. I think this is a good time for the lurkers to come out of hiding, and have everyone share their stories and get to know each other. I know how hard it can be to reach out after you've had a loss, but I have always found this board to be full of supportive, caring women. So let's get to know each other a bit.

Here's my story - warning - *****CHILD AND CURRENT PG MENTIONED*****

I'm Kelly, 36 years old, married to my husband Rob for 9 years. We've been together since college - so 16 years total.

I had my daughter, Lexi, at age 32. It was easy to get PG, a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy that gave me my little girl in September 2007. She's turning 4 on the 19th!! After we had Lexi, I had an IUD put in. When we were ready for No. 2 in 2010, I had it taken out on March 31, 2010. I got my BFP in early June - again, so easy, we were so lucky!!! I knew I was pregnant for a week (so about 4.5 weeks) when I started spotting. Went to see the doctor, couldn't see anything on the u/s yet, but my beta was 456.

Kelly, mom to 4 year old Lexi, wife to Rob TTC Number 2 since April 2010, with a loss in June 2010 at 4.5 weeks, and a loss in April 2011 at 8 weeks (possibly ectopic). Saw the RE in May 2011, we were moving forward with testing and an IUI when we

I am so glad you reassured me about my husband lol I really had a shock after realizing he is not 21 anymore ..

Hi 20Girl,

Just wanted to pop on to say that 26 is definitely NOT too old for a man to be ttc, unless there is already something biologically wrong.

We have a few new folks with questions about basic ttc so I am going to start a thread under Fertility, Charts & Ovulation to get everyone started.

Helooo ladies:)!

I am brand new to all of this and stumbled upon this site while looking for some support.

You see I am only 20 years old - I am healthy and consider myself to be a good person. I have been with my husband for 4 years now he is 26. We just got married the 29th of October 2011.
My friends told me that it might take awhile to get pregnant so by the end of july we started ttc and by the end of August I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant. Two weeks later I had a Mc.. this was our first pregnancy a first baby, a first grandchild!!:(
My Gynea recogmended to wait at least one cycle before ttc again as we did, its a month later and I should be expecting my period by tomorrow but I am praying for it to stay away!!!
To make things worse my brother in laws gf just announced her pregnancy, and i feel like she has taken something from me, i feel awfull for struggeling to be happy for them really I do.
Please Guys Pray for me, I really need this.. As I wrote my husbands age just now I actually got scared, what if he is getting to old for this!!!!!
Like I said I am healthy so the mc totally shocked me! But the dr told me these things sometimes "just happen", didnt make me feel ANY better though!!
I sort of have cramps today so Im feeling like dissapointment is knocking at my door.. I really pray my period just stays away for the next 9 months or so! lol :)
I am kinda confuesed as to how this all works, Lets say my period starts tomorrow and lasts for about 6 days when should we ttc from?? I think my doc. said for the following 7 days after your period?? Please help

Sending you all lots of love

Hi Sarah... I am so very sorry for your losss and that you aren't able to get the support you need right now. I am glad, however, that you found this board.

This is a group of wonderful women who have been there, done that in many different ways- there is usually someone who can relate and give advice.

We are here if you need to vent, cry, get it out. We are here for advice on temping, using OPKs, cheering you on in the 2WW, and giving hugs if you get a BFN. We all understand what it's like to try to grieve the loss while still trying to look to the future.

As far as your husband goes, we all grieve in different ways and in different time. For most fathers it doesn't hit as hard as it does with the mothers, especially with a 1st Tri m/c. After my 2nd miscarriage in 2008 I really withdrew and didn't realize how far I had withdrawn for almost two years afterwards. It's not good, it's not healthy. Talk to your hubby. Let him know how you are feeling, and let him in on the frustration of seeing everyone pg or with kids around you. I work in retail and I see it too. Some days it's okay, and other days I hate every mother with babies, all pregnant women, and especially teens with babies. I can't control it, it is what it is, and you simply have to muddle through as best you can. I can tell you that when I talk to my hubby about it, I feel better. HE feels better because he can understand where my frustration is coming from, and he can try to offer some comfort.

I sincerely hope that you get your bfp soon. Please keep us posted on what's going on with you, and welcome to the board.

Hi, my name is Leah. Warning, child mentioned and TMI.

My husband and I are both 26, we have been together 9 years and married for 7. When we were 22, we decided to go of BCP and "see what happens". I missed my next AF and had a BFP. I had an easy pregnancy with no problems and now have a healthy and happy 4 year old. I had wanted to start TTC since my son was 9 months old, but due to circumstances my DH requested to wait. So I waited and waited and waited. Finally he felt that things were right and we could start TTC. Unfortunately, I have a chronic medical condition and my specialist said NO. He didn't think I was healthy enough. So again, I waited. Finally in Feb 2011 (2 years and 8 months after I wanted to start TTC) we got the all clear.

I had my IUD removed in March and again, missed my next AF and had a BFP. Everything was great. We had a heartbeat on u/s a little into week 6. I started spotting and having cramping in week 9. The u/s looked great, the baby was growing as expected and the heartbeat was great. Was told that some spotting was normal for some women. I went to my regular appointment in week 11. Heard the heartbeat with a Doppler, everything was great. Then in week 15 I started having spotting and cramping. I decided to go the ER, since it was the weekend and I needed the reassurance. They did an u/s and couldn't find a heartbeat. I was devastated. I was too far along to lose a baby. You don't lose a baby after you have a heartbeat. I was one of those misinformed women that believed if you made it to week 12 you were all clear. When we went to the hospital, I honestly hadn't even thought that I had miscarried. I choose to be induced and delivered my

Welcome to the board MB. We've all been thru what you're goin thru on this board n we understand how difficult it is when friends manage to get pregnant n have their children with such ease when we have suffered so much along the way. I found out a friend of mine was pregnant just afer I found out I was, she went on to have a healthy baby boy but I m/c at 7 weeks. Not long after that another friend announced her pg. It's sooo hard to watch others doin what you want so bad anmd to pretend to be happy for them when every time you see a baby bump you just want to scream at the top of your lungs. I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you find some encouragement and understandin here *hugs*
