Hey Ladies,

I was in the hospital Saturday and ended up having a miscarriage. I was only about 5 weeks along but it still hurts like hell. We were so excited. We have been trying for our first child since March 2010.

I spoke to the doctor today and he said we can start trying again as soon as I stop bleeding. Whenever I feel ready pretty much. I've debated taking this month off, but I also know that it took me a while the first time so I don't know. We might end up trying again this month. I'm not sure if I will ovulate or not. I really don't know what to expect but I guess it might be worth a try.

Do you think it's too soon to try again? The doctor says its ok but I've heard other people say they were told to wait a month to 3 months. I just know if we get a BFP again someday I'll be worried it will happen again. I'm just so ready to be a mommy and can't believe this happened to us. :smileysad:

I hope all of you are doing well and send you lots of baby dust!

-Katie

I am so very sorry for your loss :(

As you can see the ladies here are so amazing and supportive, and like they said if the doctor gave you the go ahead do it when you feel ready.

Hi Katie,

I'm sooo sorry about your loss. {{{{{hugs}}}}} My losses have ranged from 4-1/2 weeks up to 8 weeks and they were all painful. A loss is a loss.

I would say if your doctor gives you the ok...then go for it, if you're ready, emotionally.

I wish you the best of luck and hope your stay here is really short.

Katie, I am so very sorry for your recent loss. I hope that you can find lots of support and encouragement here as you grieve and mourn and get ready to TTC again. Exactly when to try again is a personal choice. Your dr is right, in that it is not necessary to wait 1-3 cycles. However, they often recommend waiting a month or two in order to become emotional ready again, and for dating purposes (to make sure you have a period in between pregnancies). Your doctor is correct that you should not have sex before the bleeding stops, as it can cause complications or an infection.

Thanks for sharing about your journey. Please ask if you have more questions about what to expect, what to do, how to cope, ect. We have all been where you are. We're sorry you have to be part of this sad club, but we hope that in talking to other women, you can find enouragement and peace.

Thank you so much everyone, you have all been so supportive and amazing. Since we had not told anyone but our parents about the pregnancy there is nobody to talk to and I have found it to be very comforting to be able to hear from all of you and read your stories. Thanks again!!

First let me say i am sooo very sorry for your loss. I know it is a very confusing time its been three months exactly that i lost my baby. its still a very hard thing to deal or cope with. My doctor told me to wait 2 cycles but thats only so that if you get pregnant again right away you will be able to determine the due date easier.
