I am new to this board but not to ttc and miscarriage. I had a miscarriage 2/06; beautiful baby girl 1/07; miscarriage 9/10 and 2/11. All three of my miscarriages were early, less then 6 weeks. Super frustrating. Anyone been through multiple early losses? I see the doctor in March and I am not sure what to ask about or what to expect. Any information or your experiences would be helpful. I am frustrated but not giving up hope. Thank goodness there are boards like this where people get it!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I haven't even met this dr yet. Switched right before my 2nd miscarriage. The nurses I have been working with have been so kind. I am anxious to hear what her thoughts are. Guess I will have to wait and see.

Hi Nikki, I'm very sorry for your losses. It's never easy to have a m/c, no matter how early it is, and multiple m/c are frustrating and scary. I hope your doctor can give you some insight, and will be able to figure out what's going on so you can go on to have another successful pregnancy.

If you stick around you'll find that this board is full of supportive women with a lot of knowledge about m/c. Unfortunately, we've all been through it. Fortunately, though, this gives all of us a place to come and get advice and

Hi, welcome to the board, you've found a great group of women. We've all experienced losses at different stages, all the way from 5 weeks to 35 weeks. We know all the ups and downs experienced with TTC after our losses. I hope you'll find the support here that you are looking for, I know I love this group!

Good luck at your doctor appt in March, I hope you get all the answers you need.

First off, I am so very sorry for your losses. I know very well the pain associated with consecutive early losses. I have had 6 early losses. They were all before the 7 week mark and none ever had a confirmed heartbeats. It was so frustrating to go through that over and over. I finally told my OB that I wanted a referral to an RE so that I could feel like the doctor would have all the knowledge and tools needed to diagnose whatever was causing my losses. Well, I love my RE but even he couldn't figure out what was causing my losses. We did the thrombophila panel (sp?), and then did genetic testing done on both myself and my husband. Despite not ever finding a cause for my losses, I did just have a successful pregnancy with the help of some herbs. For the whole story you can read my blog where I talk more about my losses, testing, and the herbs I used.

I hope you get some answers and can have a healthy long pregnancy soon!

Hi-
I am so sorry for your losses. I experienced three, in a very similar pattern to what you have experienced. My old Dr wouldn't do a lot of testing before another loss (wanted 3 in a row), but luckily I found a good nurse midwife that was much more aggressive. I found that I have two mutations (MTHFR). Whether it is just luck or the special prenatals and asprin, I think this last one is going to be successful.

Find a Dr that will outline a plan for you and understands that there is an emotional component to it. Hopefully this Dr. will help! Expect blood draws for clotting disorders, thyroid levels, hormone levels, and possibly genetic testing. Some Dr.s will also do an ultrasound to check for abnormalities. If nothing else, if you do not find anything there is a little peace in knowing that you have done everything possible.

I am in the same shoes as you are! I had a wonderful pregnancy, no complications! Girl born 07/08. Than miscarriage 12/09. Than back to back miscarriages without a period in between on 11/10 and 01/11. I know the pain! I am very greatful for the daughter I have, but it does not help with my pain and loss.

My doctor is doing an IVF but recurrent miscarriage route. We have done multiple blood workups. Waiting for my period to come and than more blood work. An endometrial biopsy and a hystoscopy will be done during my period also. No need for HSG since I ovulated from both ovaries and got pregnant.

My husband has to go in and have his blood done. They are looking at our genes to see if there is an underlying cause. Yes even though we already have a healthy daughter.

We may get to skip over the semen analysis, which he is not fond of, if something is revealed in all of these tests.

Good luck to you too! I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy in the near future. Yoga is helping me get through it all. But I too need a lot of help and support.
