Hello all!

I suffered 2 mc last year, one at 8 weeks and another at 5 weeks. We decided to stop trying for a while and then recently saw the Dr. to do some testing to find out what could be wrong. I was tested for progesterone

Good luck! I have been taking clomid since last year, first 3 cycles at 50mg, and just finished my 3rd cycle on 100mg. I have ZERO problems with dryness, we don't use any lube at all and DH says I am more than fine in that area, so it isn't always going to dry you up! The one thing it will do is make you psycho! Ok, that was a little harsh, but it does bring on some pretty intense mood swings, just to warn you (so you can warn your significant other)! LOL! ;)

Thanks for the information! And I will absolutely look into the preseed.

It is very helpful to hear a success story! So much of what I have seen on the internet has been fairly negative,

My first round of clomid should start her in 2

Yeah I can see how a dr would still give it to you if the goal was to increase your progesterone level more than it was to help you conceive. That would intern reduce your risk for miscarriage which seems like would be the goal. As far as increasing CM you can take Mucinex for that. Make sure you get the regular Mucinex without any DM in it. You want the active ingredient to be guaifenesin. The off name brand is fine so long as the guaifenesin is the main ingredient. You can also use PreSeed when you DTD, you can order it online and find it in some CVS stores but it's hit or miss at CVS. They also have this natural supplement called FertileCM that can also be purchased online. It works wonders for some not at all for others, again hit or miss with that one.

Thanks so much for your quick response! Is there anything I can do to increase CM while taking the clomid? Do you find it odd that a dr would recommend clomid to me when I was able to conceive twice last year?

Hi there :) Clomid causes a surge in FSH and the ovaries to produce more follicles. More follicles causes a higher Progesterone level. I don't remember who it was, but someone on the board recently took Clomid for low Progesterone levels and it really helped. It can cause mucus and lining problems in some but it's not such a common problem that dr's don't prescribe it. It's used a LOT and is harmless most of the time. Just pay attn to your CM to see if it dries up a lot. Unfortunately, you'll never know how it effects your lining without monitoring via u/s. Good luck.
