Not Excited About Being Here...:(

Well, I had a mc on August 10-11 (I passed tissue both days) and I was about 9 weeks along. I don't really want to go into all the details...if you'd like to read my story it is on the TTC Christian Sisters board. Anyway, I spotted a little bit on August 29th and thought AF was coming. Well, it was just that day and no more. It happened again this morning...I had spotting and was expecting AF to come, but she's still not here. I am crampy however.

My question is what is going on????? When should AF be here? It's been over a month since this happened and I want my body to get back to normal. Do you think it could have been O spotting the first time and now maybe implantation spotting? Or do you think it's just AF gearing up to come here? Or do you think I need to be seen to make sure that everything came out like it should have since it was a natural mc?

Thanks so much!

I am SO very sorry for your loss and you are right when you said "Not excited about being here". I wish none of us lost our LOs.

Did you get your beta drawn? Are you back down to zero? Did you only bleed (tissue) for 2 days. I am thinking that isn't that long for being approx 9 weeks. I am probably the wrong one to ask because I bled for approx. 46 days straight after my first spotting from my ectopic.

I hope others can shed some light. I would be curious if your betas are zero because that triggers your AF.

Hugs...

Ashley,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I believe AF usually arrives 4-6 weeks after m/c. It depends on your HCG levels getting down to 0. I agree with Cheryl about getting some bloodwork done just to make sure.

Waiting to miscarry for a third time.

Next step is to see a fertility specialist.

I was about 8.5 weeks when I found out I miscarried (no baby at ultrasound). I took medicine to complete the miscarriage.

It took 32 days to get my period. I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate that month too. I didn't have any fertile signs. I had spotting several times during that time frame. When I got my period (if it was), it lasted about 8 days. I had 1-2 days of light/medium flow. The rest was spotting.

My HCG took forever to drop. I measured it almost 6 weeks after my miscarriage and it was 72. I read that you can't ovulate until your HCG is almost zero. You can have your period w/o it being zero (according to my doctor).

It's hard to say if it was implantation. That's the tricky thing about conceiving before your first period. You don't know unless you do an ultrasound or have your HCG measured over a period of 2-3 days.

Ashley, sometimes after a loss it takes your body a few extra days, or even a week or two, to shed its lining and begin a new cycle. The following 1-3 cycles can also be "off" a little bit, after a pregnancy loss. But if you havent gotten a full period in the last 5 or 6 weeks, I think it would be about time to call the dr and get checked out. It is advisable for them to check your HCG levels and make sure they are dropping appropriately or have gone back down to zero again. If not, and youve been TTC this month, it could also signal the beginning of a new pregnancy. Either way, it is a good idea to get checked out and figure out what is going on with your body.

Let us know when you make that appointment....

Here's my entire story:
My last cycle started on May 31st. We got a positive hpt in the beginning of July. I announced to EVERYBODY that we were expecting. Well, July 29th I started spotting after DH and I had intercourse. I thought nothing of it really because I did that with both Eva and Casey as well. Spotting is normal in a healthy pregnancy...

Anyway, I was still spotting and it turned into heavier bleeding by August 1st. I went into the ER and they drew my hcg and checked my cervix. Cervix was closed and hcg levels were at 5800. Monday, August 2nd I went in for an u/s and it showed a baby measuring at 6w1d (should have been 9w1d) and a heartbeat of 109. Had blood drawn on the 3rd and the hcg levels went down to 5600. Doctors thought that there was a mistake in one of the draws so I had another u/s done on the 5th. Baby then measured at 6w4d and heartbeat was at 110. So, baby was growing and still healthy. Started bleeding even more and passing huge clots over the weekend. I had also been having back ache and some rather strong cramping. I remember on Friday the 6th telling DH that I felt like I was having contractions. So I went back on Monday August 9th. They did another hcg drawing and the doctor prescribed progesterone supplements. The next day (the 10th) I passed tissue that was about 3 inches long. I brought that in to the clinic, in tears, and had them send it in to be analyzed. I then passed even more tissue on Wednesday (11th), but they didn't want me to bring that in for them. I didn't get the results until Friday on the tissue. The tissue results came back as negative to fetal matter and placental tissue. They didn't know what it was. So, according to the doctors I was still pregnant, but miscarrying. They refused to see me for an u/s after that and I was devistated. I had an u/s scheduled for August 23rd, so they made me wait until then. Meanwhile, the bleeding stopped on Monday August 16th. I was feeling good after all that...thinking that I was still pregnant....flaunting my tiny baby belly and telling everybody that we were still expecting, just 3 weeks later than what I had originally thought.

Then it brings us to Monday August 23rd. I was having a flipping heart all day and super nervous of what the u/s would find. We layed down on the bed for the u/s and we never got to see the screen....that's bad news. The tech said that the doctor would see me right away instead of waiting for my scheduled time. We knew that we had lost the baby.

I never did get my hcg drawn after I got the u/s showing that the baby was gone. My doctor wasn't being very cooperative or even sympathetic. They didn't care about anything....so they never ordered for another drawing.

Thanks. The bleeding I experienced also started after intercourse. Those darn hubbies. LOL!

I called the clinic yesterday and the nurse said to take a hpt in about 2 weeks if AF isn't here yet. If I don't have AF then I should call my doctor then. Not much help... I am planning on testing on Monday with a friend on the Christian Sister Playgroup board.
