Hello:-)

My name is Augusta and I had a m/c at 5 1/2 weeks on Oct. 10. They said it looked like it was complete from the blood work but to come back in this week(which I did this past Wednesday) for more bloodwork.

Child Mentioned

(Hugs) I just want to say I'm so sorry. I had a d&c on October 11th, so I know how you must be feeling. To answer your question, my OB told me after the d&c that there is no physical reason to wait to try again. He mentioned that doctors in the past told people to wait three months, but there is no medical research to support that. Second, I had a natural m/c at 5 1/2 weeks before DS, and we got pregnant with him the first full cycle after the m/c. I only waited the first cycle to make sure it was complete. He is a happy, healthy 18 month old. My OB (same doctor) told me the same thing that time - there is no medical/physical reason to wait to try again. That decision is really up to you and how you are feeling emotionally.

Keep us posted on what you decide - we're waiting 6 weeks to try again, but only because I'm having tests done for the 2nd m/c.

Do you know how long it takes for you cycle to return? I read online it can be anywhere from 4-6 weeks.

Thank you! I think we are going to TTC but he has tons of training over the next few months and I still have gotten my period again so I am not sure how successful we will be.

Hi Gussie,

I'm so sorry for your loss, but I do understand baby fever :)

I wish I had a better answer for you for the length of time it takes for AF to return, but honestly there is no telling in advance. I have had it take 6 weeks, I have had it take 4 weeks... it just depends on how each woman's body recovers from each miscarriage- they can all be different.

FX that AF comes closer to the 4 week mark so you get back on the TTC train chica!

hi. sorry about your loss. it's great that you've found this supportive group of ladies who have been through the same thing. my MC was in july and my doc also told me that there was no reason to wait. so unless your doc told you you should, i'd say get right back to trying if you're emotionally ready.
also, my cycle came back right away. my MC was ling a longer, heavier period, then i Od just a little later than i normally had been.
good luck!

My doctor also said 4-6 weeks. I don't remember with my first m/c, but it was in that range. I started miscarrying on May 11th (I remember that b/c it was Mother's Day), but the actual miscarriage didn't happen until a week or two later. We conceived again on July 3rd (I remember that b/c our friends were also pregnant and picked on us about having a fun Independence Day - ha!).

I had this d&c on October 11th, and I'm still bleeding 2 weeks later, so I have no idea when AF will show!

Hey ladies! Thank you so much for the encouragement, I still havent gotten my period but I am not expecting it for another week or so, they called and told me Monday that my hormone levels were normal and i could start taking BC again...UMMMMM no. Thanks then they went as far as to call in a prescription for me. Every one keeps saying your young you have time but it doesnt feel that way! Ugh! I actually had people say well be glad you can at least get pregnant....

I am so glad to meet you ladies! I feel like I have come to a place where people understand. Thank you so much for all the support. I am looking around for topics to post in but feel like I am lacking in information for a lot of posts, Sorry! I am trying tho!
