recent m/c need help
Tue, 04-01-2003 - 1:33pm
hi there I'm new here and have questions. I had a m/c on thur mar 27. I was 7 weeks. To make it worse my last was a full term s/b on nov 10 2002. he was born on his due date and I was due nov 9 this time :( I had my dr apt yesterday to confirm everything. That was really hard to see that it really happened and I wasn't dreaming. Im just really sad and need hugs. Im not planning on usuing anything for protection and was just curious how long before I may have a period and when I could get preg again. If anyone can help or can relate please respond.

Thanks for listening

Big ((((HUGS)))) to you. I cannot even imagine how hard that would be to lose two angels so close together. I don't know if this helps, but it took me 5 weeks to get an AF after both of my losses, which were at 14 and 12 weeks. Not sure if the length of the pg has anything to do with how long it takes for cycles to resume, but I think typical is 4-6 weeks. My OB told me to wait 6 cycles (very conservative small town doc) but my RE told me just to wait 2 cycles before ttc. I am just finishing my third AF since D&E, and don't know if I'm back to regular or not yet. Every woman is just so different it's hard to say.

Best of luck and many patience vibes to you.

I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope your sadness lessens more and more each day. Just wanted to let you know that I got AF after 31 days. My NP says 4-6 weeks is average but 12 is not unheard of. She recommended 2 but preferably 3 cycles but we chose to wait 1. I don't believe I ovulated before AF but I did this month, the next. Hope this helps!

I am sorry about your recent losses. I had my miscarrige 2 months ago. It took 6 weeks for me to get my period and we just recently this past week got to try again. I won't know for a week or two. (I like to wait to test after being late 3-4 days.)I would think alot depends on how you cycle normally. My cycle is always like clockwork. Although this first period after the M/C was a bit heavier than normal for me.

My Dr. told me about a patient she had, who experieced 7 losses before bringing home a baby. I could not imagine going through that many loses and heartbreak... but, bless her heart she was determined. I think anything is possible. But, I do understand your sadness. I continue to feel an empty sadness for the baby I lost. I always will. I hope ttc again will help fill that void. Hang in there, sounds like your not going to give up. Best wishes.
