Hi Everyone,
For the past 13 months, I have started spotting before my period is due, 4 days past ovulation. This is pink or brown until I am due on which ranges from 12 to 14 days after ovulation. I am trying to conceive and this seems to be causing a problem. I have had 2 miscarriages both at 5 weeks. I have had every blood test under the sun, scans, examinations, a Laparoscopy and everything has come back fine, including my progesterone levels, which are 52.5. I also went on Clomid for 4 months, which sorted it all out, although I got blurred vision and everything then went back to normal after I finished it. All I get from the doctors is, "well the most important thing is you're ovulating". They don't have a clue what to suggest. I feel absolutely fine in myself and am a happy person, but the spotting does get to me, especially as everything about my cycle was perfect before I started trying to conceive. Literally the month I started trying for kids, it all went wrong!!!
I am booked for a diagnostic hysteroscopy now in 3 weeks, but I bet it comes back ok.
Just wondered if anyone else has spotting/bleeding problems after ovulation has taken place and doesn't have low progesterone or anything know to be wrong?
I am really determined to find someone like me out there, I can't be the only person in this boat!!!
Thanks
Have you had your thyroid checked? I finally had mine checked after lots of spotting like that around 4 or 5 dpo and trouble conceiving. It was slightly hypothyroid and once I took care of that conceiving was no issue. Just a thought, but your situation sounded so much like mine - ovulating every month, hormone levels ok. Sometimes docs just don't think of it with respect to ttc.
Hi there,
Thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated.
I believe I did have my thyroid checked a while back. I will check that though with the doctors as I am not 100% sure. I have got a list of all the blood test I have had done, so I will have to go through them and see if I can work out which one could be my thyroid!!
Hi mam_2_ben,
Thanks for the info. I have checked my tests and I don't see one on there for TSH, so I might see if I can get this checked. Do I need to get this checked on a certain day of my monthly cycle like you do with progesterone and FSH/LH or is it anyday? I googled it and can't seem to find an answer!
Hi mam_2_ben,
I just called the doctors and they said that my TSH was 1, which was done at 6dpo, so I'm guessing that this is absolutely fine.
Just thought I'd update you!
