Hi Girls,

If you read my pp you know the nurse at my OB office told me last Tuesday (10 days ago) that my levels were not "good" and I would be miscarrying within the week.

well, to be honest, they are not increasing enough. at this point in your pregnancy, they should be doubling approx every 48 hours. Meaning that your 3rd beta really should have been around 4800 or more (if I did that calculating correctly) with an increase to only 1483, that's a doubling time of 93.69 hours. I hate to say that your nurse is correct, but it's more likely than not that you are going to miscarry.

Miscarriage is hard. I know that for me, my first miscarriage, I saw the baby on u/s just 15 minutes before I lost the baby - the little baby was moving great, the heartbeat was great, everything looked good except I was bleeding very heavily. My OB decided to do an exam to see where all the blood was coming from and just as he was about to start, I felt it, and the baby came out right into his hands. Knowing that I had just miscarried and even seeing the baby still did not make it easier to accept. In my mind, I thought that maybe just maybe everything would still be ok. I held onto that even after seeing the baby. I think that most times, our minds are like our bodies, in that we want so badly to hang on to that thread of hope, we want to be that "miracle lady" and we want so badly for our babies to be ok... it's hard to accept.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this, and I'm sorry that you're stuck in that "waiting limbo" waiting is the worst because while waiting, we inevitably always go to "what if".

I am sorry you are going through beta hell. I went through that too with my ectopic. I would ask for an ultrasound because they should start seeing something over 1000. I kept track of my first pregnancy/ectopic and you can see that my betas were lower and stalled around the 400 range and then it shot up to 2300 before it started going down.

I agree with the other girls, I think it should be higher by now, but at this point, they should be able to see something on a sonogram, so I'd ask for a sono!!!
