TTC after D&C

Wish I wasn't but I am back. Got to 8 1/2 weeks with slow growth and a slow hb and things stopped. Had a d&c on 11/13. I wasn't really given any instructions on ttc. I remember from last time that they said wait until AF returns. This time was horrible. I had four days of what I would essentially label contractions and 2+ days of huge clots. It's such a horrible experience and now I have had the pleasure of going through it twice. This has been 2 years of frustration and 9 miscarriages. We are so stressed by everything and were just finally starting to get back to being relaxed and not being so focused on the process. It is so easy to get wrapped up in this process and make it your life. DH has had a lot of problems when the pressure is on so it really makes ttc difficult. We were conflicted on what to do now because obviously they want us to wait to ttc, but under our circumstances and all we have been through, we had a long talk and found a solution that seems to work for us. The problem is that I know my body way too well. If we ttc, the pressure is back on. If we prevent, I still have to know what is going on to know when to prevent (and that defeats the purpose of taking a break and not trying) and if we just use condoms, then it is very clear that we are ttc again when we stop and DH will return to being stressed. Under these circumstances, we decided that we won't ttc, but we won't prevent either. It sounded like a fair solution. No temps, opk's, progesterone, etc. The only problem is that as I sit here I know very well that I am about to ovulate. I wasn't thinking about the fact that I would still know what was going on. I guess really the only thing I can do since I know is to leave it up to dh to initiate. That way I am not influencing what happens with the knowledge I have. So much of me wants to sabatoge our plan and just ttc right now (dh is having no issues and it's fun again) but I know the smart thing to do is to wait and to leave it up to God what happens. It's medically not probably the best idea, but I am a nurse and I used to bending the rules lol. I guess what I am wondering is did anyone ttc right after a d&c or "accidentally" get pregnant before AF returned and if so, what was the outcome? I am trying to do the right thing for our relationship and our family, but I also don't want to be stupid about it. Just looking for some feedback I guess. Thanks a bunch. Karri

I am so sorry you are back here.  I do not have much help for you though.  After my d&c, we waited until AF came twice before ttc again.  That's what the doctor recommended us to do.

I TTC as soon as bleeding stopped after my natural miscarriage but didn't get pregnant so I don't have much advice there. I'm so sorry for you to come back here. I hope you don't stick around long ;)
