Hey Ladies,

I am only on week 3 post m/c, but so far it doesn't look like I"ve O'd, as i posted in other posts, I had the EWCM but no thermal shift, so I'm still waiting. If I don't get an AF in the next 3 wks, doc said to call him for some Provera.

So what exactly does Provera do? I know it starts your AF, but then what happens after that? I mean, it doesn't guarantee you'll O the next cycle or have a "normal length" cycle. So what's the point? Or does kickstarting AF often get kind of jumpstart your body and hormones? I just don't want to get my hopes up that Provera will fix things if AF doesn't come.

I am not a Provera expert but I did take it to induce AF so that I could go on Clomid. However, I have heard that it does in fact "kick start" some women's bodies because it allows the lining to be shed and for the body to start anew. Your issue may be that you are not ovulating. My Dr did say that some women do not O until months after m/c. I never used to O, so that is why I was put on Clomid. If you going to the Dr to talk about Provera, I would ask about Clomid. Since you have proof that you have not O'd, your dr may prescribe it as well. If you are not Oing, I would strongly suggest it! (I got pg the second month on Clomid!!). Since my m/c, I am Oing for the first time in my life. So, I don't need Clomid - yet -- if I don't get pg soon, I may beg for it again!!!

GLTY!!
