Hi my name is Jennifer- we lost our little angel Baby Derek @ 18 weeks and 2 days- I was under the impression that after 2nd trimester we were "safe"....guess I was wrong to assume anything.

Hi, Jennifer. I am SO sorry for your loss :( I think at 18 weeks, I would have felt the same way you did - that we were safe.

Anyway, the general consensus on this board is that if you are emotionally and physically ready, meaning that you are no longer bleeding or in any pain or experiencing any cramping, then you are good to go and can begin to TTC again.

Waiting two or three cycles used to be the rule of thumb regarding m/c as a whole but that is kind of the "old school" way of thinking.

But at the end of the day, it's up to you and YOU feel. If you are hesitant at all you should wait. But if you feel ready to try againI would go for it.

Hello Jennifer, welcome to the board. I am so very sorry for your loss, the loss of a child is a pain no one should ever have to feel. I hope you don't have to wait 5 yrs again, I know how scary that thought is, I had a m/c 12 yrs ago when my first DD was 18 months old, it had taken me 3 yrs to get pregnant with my first and I thought the same thing, it will take 3 yrs again. It only took about 8 months though and I had a healthy second DD.

Jennifer, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Most people believe that once they pass the "magic" 12 week mark they're in the clear.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I would say that if you are not happy with your doctor's advice, seek out a doctor who can help you out. Have you seen an RE? They might be able to help you out more than just a regular OB/GYN. They'd have more information on helping you get pg despite your PCOS. (((HUGS))) You've come to a great place for support!

Hi Jennifer, I'm sorry for your loss. I can relate to the wondering if you'll have to wait that long again. It took us many years to get pg with our angel, and we lost him in the 35th week. I will never feel safe during pregnancy - I won't breathe until I hear that baby cry. My husband and I have been trying unsuccessfully since 1999 for our first. I pray we will all get the babies we deserve soon, it's all just so unfair.

I hope you'll find the support you are looking for here, this is a wonderful group of women. They've already given you great advice that I totally agree with.

Hi, Jennifer,

((HUGS)) Welcome to the board. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Looks like you have some great advice already. Even though the reason we are here is terrible, I'm glad we found our way here. The board members are wonderful and as I'm sure you're finding out, are very supportive.
