9 million on board

Certainly better than the last sperm count of 1.6 million. After only two weeks of FertilAid, ibuprophen and putting an ice pack between the laptop and his boys, we got 9 million. I wish the odds were better - more than one follie and more sperm - but we'll take what we can get and keep trying. The RE was reassuring.

Sorry, I haven't kept up much with you girls....been busy, but just wanted to say that I so hope that this is your month, Chouli!! With 9 million of those buggers, you'd think ONE of them will find the egg.....let's hope they did.

Chouli- that is AWESOME! I KWYM about being the "personal secretary" LOL!!! I think it's terrific that he is taking charge of his own end of it! (Can you get him to call my DH?) ;)

Wow, my DH is the best. Usually he has me "handle" certain things at irriate him. Anything medical, making phone calls like ordering food, setting up appointments/services, party planning...stuff like that. I joke about being his personal secretary. But without me doing it or even reminding him, he set up an appointment with his PCP for next Tues. and he's going to call the RE and get all his SA result records from the last 26 months. I tell you, for being an older man who already has children, he's done SO much to get us here on this TTC road. I am very fortunate .............(and he's totally hot)

LOL @ the pun...I dunno if our RE would have given it to DH either. I hope the PCP can get it for him.

I called the RE. Apparently clomid for men should help him, but she "doesn't prescribe clomid for men". So we are welcome to go to a urologist and get DH on clomid. That's disappointing. I'm going to ask him to go to his primary care this week and see if we can get that ball rolling (no pun intended).

Wow! That is AWESOME that he is willing to do so much to increase your odds! I think I have heard of Clomid and increasing sperm count but you'd have to Google it to get specifics. As far as banking his sperm you MAY be running around in circles but check with your RE to be sure. I THINK that he you freeze and store sperm you lose some sperm in the process and you may risk the quality of SOME of the remaining sperm. In men with normal sperm count (like in donation bank etc) it's not too much of an issue but if the goal is to increase count I think what may happen is you would increase it some but not a whole lot - maybe not enough to make it all worth th trouble. BUTTTTTTTTT I could be wrong. Sometimes I know enough about a subject to say without a doubt blah blah blah and sometimes I'm like, well I THINK this is the case but I am by no means certain and sometimes I am like, I have no freaking idea - ask someone else LOL In this case I THINK I am right but I am not 100%. I would put in a call to the RE! Worst they can say is no!

Tell me if this is reasonable. DH said if this cycle doesn't work he's willing to go on Clomid because sometimes they use it in men to increase sperm counts. He also asked me if they can bank his sperm. Basically he would go in 2 or 3 times with a sample and they could stockpile it and process it and use it all for an IUI to increase the post-wash #. The RE has never mentioned or offered that so I didn't know how to answer DH. Do they even do that?

Ya, the RE explained that if we were just doing coitus, only 1 million would have gotten past the cervix anyway. With the IUI with the post wash 9 million, all of them got past the cervix. He really made it sound OK. I'm just FX at this point.
