Appt update

So my OB refused to give me a referral for the RE until I agreed to come in so I went today. He was contradicting many things he said in the past. He agreed, FINALLY to do more testing and then will give me a referral if they don't find anything. I had to beg for any blood work Initially. So I got b/w for chromosomal stuff today and he wants me to get an hsg. So I called the office and they said their machine is broken and I have to go to another office, so I call them and the guy was like well you are supposed to call on CD 1 to schedule an appt, today is only CD 3 but no one ever told me that, I just got the info today, really don't see why he couldn't just schedule it. So he said call back next time on CD 1. After these two tests then I can finally get a referral to the RE, I guess in February since I can't do the hsg till January. Hopefully my chromosome tests are ok. My tsh is still elevated, but I see the endo tomorrow, so we will see. Why are we always jumping thru hoops in tins TTC journey? I asked the doc about clomid and he said there is no point using it, wth??

I'm really not surprised at what they said about the Clomid. It really doesn't do a heck of a lot of good for women who O on their own but in that same respect I always feel like, why not just give it to you? It won't hurt anything and if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work but what did you lose? Nothing! Ugh dr's frustrate me to no end.

I am glad they are (however reluntantly) willing to give you an RE referral. Just get through the HSG (hopefully with nothing major to be found) and then move onto the RE. I also hope the endo can give you some insight.

I think Cheryl is correct. They like you to call and schedule on CD 1, but they do the test after AF is done and before ovulation happens so I think CD 9-12 seems about right. Since you will be CD 4 tomorrow I say call back and ask to schedule. I mean, come on, they shouldn't make you wait for a new cycle just to schedule in this instance! Arg! I've had an HSG, so feel free to let me know if you have questions. Best of luck!

Andrea and Aubrey thanks. This is my third OB in my insurance plan, I have kaiser so my options are limited. But at least he listened to me today. I brought three books filled with my arguments why I need an RE, but he didn't let it go there cause he said after these two tests, he will give me one. Does anyone know how long it takes to get results back of a chromosome test?
